But but but some guy on here last week said he knew someone who tailgates with parents of some of the Auburn players and they had gotten "the call" from someone who said Jacobs was fired? Does this mean i can't believe everything i read on the Rant? Is someone purposely spreading false truths about the Tigers?

This hire is going to end up like the end of that Pharoah. Au old trust still heading things up and the fanbase destroyed by a flood of Crimson Tide.

Dr. Gogue will be very involved in the hiring....

If the President of the University is involved in the search, there is little to no chance he will attach himself to Petrino . . . soooo for me

They will still suck. They had a panic attack when Saban came to BAMA and fired the best coach they have ever had. The program will stay in the shitter until Saban leaves.

Shawn Watson would be a step up in hiring for Jacobs and Au.

Go from a 5-19 coaching hire to:

So Illinois 1994-96
11-22 .333

1-10 first year and quadrupled his wins his final two yrs to 5-6! IMPRESSIVE resume.

If they go that route, goodbye Auburn football. See you again around 2020.

All the Auburn fans can hope for is that this is a setup and in reality everybody is gone, including Philip Marshall

There's not a ton of great coaching candidates on the table this year to get. Au will get scraps after other programs. Never say never.

I believe the information Philip has is solid about Chizik, JJ and TJ.... Jay is getting a pass because he was willing to change how the AD operates.

I will say, it's unlikely that Watson is a serious candidate. Everyone knows how the game works, throw out a name and work unseen for who you want.

Still. Au won't get first pick this yr on coaching candidates. It's a pretty awful job at the moment, especially if Jacobs stays.

Not really lots of many great facilities history etc, we'll get first pick before arkansas or kentucky and pretty much any other team
