UBURN - Auburn president Jay Gogue has told some members of the Board of Trustees he is making preparations to replace head football coach Gene Chizik, multiple sources confirm.

Gogue also told the trustees to whom he talked that he plans to retain athletics director Jay Jacobs and reassign executive associate athletics director Tim Jackson, who oversees football.

So Jacobs and Tim Jackson will both still be around, but the HC will change. In other words, business as usual.

This is what I thought. Maybe, just maybe, Gogue and whoever else will basically give Jacobs a certainly pool of names from which to interview/choose, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

If JJ is allowed to freely do a coaching search, we're screwed.
