Honestly this is such a dumb argument. What difference does it make what Bama did on defense if it resulted in shutting down Fournette?
Then why did yall deny doing it?

Do LSU fans get more out of Bama doing it by stacking the box? What a little bitch thing to poke your chest out about.
Other way around......

If a 5-2 defense is stacking the box then yes, we did.

The argument that was put forth by LSU fans back during the season was not that Alabama occasionally stacked the box on fournette runs but that Alabama put 9 in the box every play and that's why fournette got stonewalled. I must have seen that commented a hundred times. And that was clearly not the case, as we were just as likely to have 6 in the box on a fournette play as 8, and only did 9 once.

Did Bama stack the box or not?

Sounds like they had about equal snaps of 6, 7 or 8 in the box on Fournette's running plays at least. So sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't. I would imagine they didn't play LSU much differently than LSU's other opponents. Just had the personnel to actually contain Fournette/LSU's running game.

There is tape available. This isn't really a matter of someone's opinion. More times than not Alabama had 7 in the box

The big thing is that we immediately went to 7 in the box when they went I formation. LSU telegraphed his runs badly - assuming his talent would get him yards. Worked against most teams too, but no adjustment against the Alabama front.

Your DE's and LB's were far superior (and fast) compared to those other teams though.

It's 4 pages of arguing over the manner in which LSU lost its 6th consecutive to Alabama. Hopefully a Tennessee fan will start one here soon breaking down the minutiae of their failures over the past decade.

Pretty much. I think the point in the conversations between Alabama fans and LSU fans about Fournette's struggles is that Alabama didn't really do anything differently than most teams when playing LSU. Alabama just had better personnel to stop the run than most teams have. You focus on stopping the run until LSU proves it can hurt you with the pass. It was a very base defense and LSU could not make Alabama get out of it or have to adjust.
BINGO!

Alabama has made LSU's oline look really bad the last couple of yrs. Our front 7 was a dominant unit, and Miles failed to build an oline (his area of expertise btw) that could go head to head with a dominant front like Saban's.

Couple a sub-par oline that's not very good in pass protection + a QB with mediocre passing skills + a very stubborn/predictable/conservative offensive game plan and it's a recipe for a LOSS even with a stout defense pulling the lions share of the load.

Poor coaching on LSU's part.
