Wilbekin may be a better driver and defender than Greene, but Greene was a way better pure point guard. Greene was killer passing the ball and shot very well from 3. He hit some big shots in the tourney.
Lee Humprhey I think is still the all time leader of 3 point baskets in the NCAA tournmanet. He was clutch and could hit them from anywhere.
Prather I think is a bit better around the basket than Brewer was, but their defense is about equal, and Brewer had a much better long range shot.
Noah and Horford would probably dominante PY and WY. Although, that UF team did sometimes struggle with fast undersized big men, so maybe this team could out hustle them? IDK....

I think Prather would be a big match up problem for them. Wilbekin's on ball defense would be able to limit Greene. I think if they played 10 times the 04s beat them 7-8/10.

Wilbekin > Green
I don't see a significant disparity either way offensively, and Wilbekin is in a different league defensively. He's become the best all-around point guard we've ever had imo.

It would be a very interesting game, but I think the 04s would win.
And BTW, I think the bench of this year is better than the 04 bench. JMHO.

Prather is a better scorer this year than Brewer during his last year but Brewer was better on D. Prather is great on D as well, and is the most efficient offensive player I have ever seen. Scottie and Prather aka Frazier II were the key tonight for "FSU" against UK

The first championship team had Chris Richards, Adrian Moss, and Walter Hodge that played a lot of minutes and really contributed a lot.
The only guy on the bench for Florida this year that consistently can score is Dorian Finney-Smith. After that, Devon Walker and Kasey Hill are serviceable, but aren't scorers, and Chris Walker is just not ready yet.
The 2006-2007 team had Chris Richards, Walter Hodge, and Maureese Speights. I would take both the 06 and 07 benches over what UF has this year.

Our 07 team was better (the best in SEC history).

sure, if they win back/back titles ...

Were you born before 2006-2007 or too young to follow basketball? Watch some old games from those years for the answer, which is NO.

I'd say the bench is a bit of a wash. This team has DFS and Hill, although Hill really isn't giving us much right now. Those teams had Richard and Hodge, and another big (first team had Moss, second team had Speights).

No…No….No.
96 Cats was LOADED and ran rough shot….
12 Cats…see above.
07 Team would be 3rd best in history.
Sorry for homerism…but reality.

The 96 and 12 Kentucky teams failed to win the SEC tournament.

07 UF vs. 12 UK
Green > Teague
Humphrey < Lamb
Brewer = MKG
Horford >>>>> Jones
Noah < Davis (although you can't go wrong with either guy, would've been a great matchup)
Would've been a great game between two of the best teams of the past twenty years. Not really sure anyone can seriously say that either was outright better.

That UF team lost more games than both of those UK teams, combined. Including to bleh LSU and Florida State teams....

fricking Ole Miss won the SEC Tourney…does that make the team last year one of the best in history….
Come on man.
I was in the PMAC in 96 watching UK put over 80 points by in the 1st half on LSU…they destroyed teams all season.
Now, if you want to argue 12 Cats vs 07 Gators, then you may have an argument…but the 12 team had a rim protector with Davis…and Lamb was clutch beyond the arch.

don't be a homer. That '12 Kentucky team was stacked. Much more dominant than '07 Florida. Florida does have the much better coach and you'll never hear me argue otherwise. I think Donovan is underrated in CBB

One of your fans was saying Prather=Brewer.
MKG way better on defense then Brewer…plus, MKG could drive to the basket better as well.

The SEC was actually a good conference in 06 and 07, though.
