the problem for y'all is this time it's a conference game so you won't be able to cancel the series when we start mud stomping you like you did the last two times. Bama is the only one with that kind of SEC scheduling power

Ahh the 90's. The only time in history A&M had a better program than LSU. Better cherish those memories because it's all you've got.

The problem for yall is that when Texas comes calling, you will play them whenever wherever

No, it doesn't benefit us to play them anymore.

Revived rivalry: denied.

Not exactly.

Things keep going the direction they're heading now, they'll need the game more than we will and will have to content themselves with whatever space we decide to carve out for them.

We extended the proverbial olive branch already when we said we'd still play them after realignment, and Slive was prepared to accommodate the rivalry continuing OOC. That ship has sailed.

it's going to take awhile for them to come around on that. Just being in Austin they don't, at this point at least, feel they need that game back. They do know they need to beef up their OOC though. I guess time will tell, not that i really care one way or another.

Meh, folks thought the prospect of losing that game would be enough to stymie us from switching conferences.

Times are a changin'

I hope it does take awhile, honestly. More time for us to strengthen our brand while theirs (hopefully) continues to weaken.

they are getting awfully restless. I can see a change made if they have another down year.

it's going to take an awful lot to really weaken the Texas brand though.

Agreed. Definitely not an overnight thing at all.

Having the year A&M did in '12 accelerated things, though. We'll see where it goes from here.

Incorrect.

We really don't, or we wouldn't have left.

We'll play again when they sack up and wherever we have room on the schedule.

You do realize that one season, especially a non-championship one, really doesn't change anything at all, right?

Did you completely miss the part where I said it wasn't an overnight thing?

You're missing the point. They'll never sink that low.

But if they could be marginalized to the level of, say, Georgia Tech (I know, still very farfetched), or even Florida State, that'd be enough.

I think a good case study would be USC/Clemson.

Seems like the tables have turned over the last 20 years. It certainly is possible to do the same here.

Won't be easy though.
