I was under the assumption the Mich/Ohio St rivalry goes beyond sports and there is a hatred between the 2 states dating back to the french and indian war or something like that.

What time frame are we talking? Or is it just specific years that fit your point?

How about all time?
Bama #1, an OSU #5

Best five year run in history? Bama with the #1, 6, 11, 15, & 18th ranked 5 year runs of all time.
OSU doesn't have a 5 year success run that cracks top 20 of all time

Last 5 years? Yep. Bama better than aOSU during that stretch, too.
Bama #1, OSU #9

Last 10 years - Bama #1, OSU #8
Last 20 years is first time OSU's stretch seen as better than Bama's (barely)
Didn't last long, though. Expand to past 25 years and Bama seen as better than OSU

Keep digging into the numbers if you'd like. It's nearly a consensus that during virtually any multi-season stretch of time you want to evaluate, Bama is seen as the better program than OSU.

Ohio and Michigan technically went to war with each other by themselves

Trust me. When Miss again becomes relevant, you'll be begging for Ohio State fans to support your Southern asses. After all, Ohio is more "Southern" geographically than Miss again.

Haha, what are you talking about? Left field needs you back.

I'll have the Bama vs. Ohio State argument if you really want to. In this thread, I'd rather hate Ann Arbor and Auburn though.

They already do, dipshit. You can ask around if you want. Few fans care about urban Myer and his sorry arse team.

the Bama vs. Ohio State argument

...would be a rather lackluster and intellectually dishonest affair, featuring a lot of rapidly-moving goalposts and little to no consensus ever being reached.

Let's fricking pass on that one, OK?

I live in Florida, literally five minutes from Alabama, and a few hours from Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, etc. Most reasonable SEC fans are intelligent enough to carry decent conversation.

I'm not the one trying here, bud. If you didn't care, you wouldn't be here.

What argument? I just hit you with all the data needed. Bama is the better overall program. That's not a knock on OSU. I think they are a top 5 program historically. They just aren't Bama.
