Now that Harbaugh is at Michigan and is turning things around, the annual meeting between the 2 will be a big game every year possibly deciding the conference champion.

On the flip side, Auburn is struggling so the stakes may not be as high when they play Bama.

Thoughts?

It's the biggest rivalry in college football, so yes.

More national prominence. Bama vs. Auburn is in the top 5, but not close to Ohio St./Michigan.

We hate each other more. It's a bigger part of our lives, a 365-day argument unlike any other. The game may not be as impactful as often, but it's not our fault Auburn sucks

Alabama-Tennessee is a better rivalry than both.

A&M vs LSU vs Nick Chubb vs Fournette vs Chavis is the GOAT rivalry.

Iron Bowl winner has gone to National Championship/Semi Final each of the last 6 years.

Iron Bowl also gets the biggest tv ratings.

So, more important: Iron Bowl
Most popular: Iron Bowl

There is not as much hate between OSU/Michigan but it is the bigger rivalry. But AL/AU is much more hateful.

I think I recall watching an OSU Michigan game about 15 years ago.

No.

You have to look at it historically. Way back in the day alabama was absolute dirt poor. Teh state was last in just about every conceivable metric in america. Education, roads, money, you name it. All they had was football. So that game meant EVERYTHING to the state, because it was essentially all the state had to be proud of.

You can't say the same for ohio and michigan.

Ohio State-Michigan is historically a more important game, but no two teams hate each other more than Alabama and Auburn

Auburn wouldn't have gone last year. Bama wouldn't have gone in 2010.

all rivalries are localized

they mythology around Michigan and Ohio State is better because it's a broader more appealing story than two deep south schools in the same state hating each other

but honestly I don't give a rat's arse who wins in the Ohio State Michigan game and I doubt any of them care about the Iron Bowl

for my money our rivalry is a bit meaner and intense but then again I'm sitting in the middle of it
