First let me say that I really like Les Miles and his funny personality. He is always smiling, always having fun, always in a good mood, and always jovial.

But, is he too happy too much? Would it help him and his team if he were just a little more serious a lot more of the time?

Type Les Miles into Google and virtually every image it displays has him smiling or laughing, like life is a game. Life isn't a game; life is serious and so is college football.

Could he benefit and could the Tigers benefit if he could just take things a little more seriously? I mean, a coach can't laugh and giggle all the time, 24-7, sometimes they have to be serious or players won't respect them.

People view life through different lenses. Not everyone sees life as being so serious. It helps a lot to lighten up. That said, there are times when I wish Miles had more of a killer instinct to push the gas pedal and not let up until the opponent is ready to simply quit. LSU lets teams hang around too long in my opinion.

I think it's a little late in the game for Miles to alter his personality for the sake of his profession. He is who he is. If he all of a sudden changed his demeanor and was serious or cold hearted about how he handled things, people would think there was something wrong with him and bridges would begin to burn. I think Miles has had a great career just being Les Miles and he should apologize for nothing. He is a great dude and coach.

I personally love the man. He is a little different, which is perfect for South LA.
I do think he is the best coach LSU has ever had. Sure, he isn't perfect, but no one is.
I fear the day that Miles haters get their wish. Its hard enough to get 2 great coaches in a row, much less 3.

From what I have heard.... behind closed doors Miles is VERY serious and focused when it comes to his football teams. Does he like to lighten things up every once and a while for him and his players? Yes, without a doubt. That is only because he works their asses into the ground everyday...the work ethic is unbelievable by our players and that doesn't happen when you have a coach who isn't serious enough ;-)

The real question is why in the hell are you googling Les Miles?

All LSU, all the time.

It looks to me Les has life figured out and keeps an almost perfect balance of fun and seriousness in both his family time and work time.

Les has it figured out. Nothing wrong with having fun especially while doing so to promote worthwhile causes. That first pic is when he repelled off a building to promote adoption awareness.

Honestly i think he cares too much about his rep as a goofy unorthodox happy go lucky guy sometimes. Just win football games and keep the kids in line plz

College football doesn't mean a damn thing in the grand scheme of things. Listen to people talk about les and they never have a bad thing to say about him as a person. I think miles would take that all day over a few trolls criticizing him and a gump concerned if he has to much fun.

I remember when I changed sales territories from Iowa to Arkansas and when a regional mgr worked with my replacement in Iowa. Some of the accounts must have told some stories about me, to this manager.

He told, me, it sure sounds like you had a lot of fun when you were here.

My reply was simply, if you can't have fun doing your job, you either have the wrong job, or you or doing it wrong.

I think Les definitely gets this and in my opinion is a very good coach. There has never been, nor will there ever be a coach that all agree with everything they do.

I think what the media sees and what the team sees are two different things. Maybe not worlds apart but I think everyone knows by now that Miles enjoys toying with the media.
