All that matters is whether the team is concerned. The fans can be or not be concerned. But, the team better be concerned. Heck, Saban would be concerned about Sisters of the Poor and Mission of Mercy, so I doubt the team is overlooking Washington.

I think conventional wisdom is that this game looks very similar to the Michigan State game last year wherein Alabama has a massive talent advantage, especially on the lines.

Conventional wisdom is normally correct and I think it will be this time as well.

That said, I'm not sure the SEC is even a shell of what it has been. Therefore, Bama's dominance could be overstated or estimated.

Having said that, I still think Bama with time to prepare wins by four or more TDs.

If Bama does not take Washington seriously, then Washington will be playing for the National Championship. Bama did not take Utah seriously after the 2008 season and lost badly. The score was not indicative of Utah's mastery that night.

If you are Saban and Pruitt you best prepare for Peterson. He will pull out all of the stops in a big game like he did at Boise State. Hitch and goes, Statue of Liberty , etc.He has the horses to do it

It doesn't matter what fans think. I can assure you coach Saban and the players are concerned and will be ready to play. Washington gains no advantage by me taking them lightly.

They are a very well coached team. The talent gap is extreme, but if we make a bunch of mistakes they are going to score on us. I don't think they can hold up to us physically on either line. It really doesn't matter what favs think, I doubt the team is taking them lightly

i understand they are the Rep for the SEC, even more a reason i hope they are taking them lightly, i hope Washington beats them with a heart breaking field goal, or kick six or something heart breaking.

Capstone, you have already faced the best offense you will face this year back at the first part of the year. Alabama will hold Washington under 20

The Bama board shows a lot of respect for them. I was one of the few that felt extremely confident about an easy win.
Yep, Pac12 wants none of that.

Difference was that the Utah game was a meaningless bowl game. Further, that 2008 squad was nothing like the champion team with playoff veterans.

Bama will take Washington seriously and will be dialed in.

I'm only concerned because I respect Peterson as a coach a lot. That guy knows how to pull upsets.

"Peterson will have them ready"

Is he going to recruit a new Oline because if not it doesn't matter what he schemes his QB will be running for his life and on the ground a lot.

Bama's D will force turnovers, dominate between the tackles and Washington will be forced to quick throws if they want to try to move the ball.

Their small Dline will get blown off the ball if Kiffin will commit to running between the tackles and force them to put 8 in the box (I say if but Kiffin NEVER does this).

The question is what will Kiffin do. Will he maximize the talent advantage like he did against Miss State or minimize it like he did against Florida?

Either way Bama wins comfortably I just wonder if we'll have to sweat the cover.

Yes they do. Our only advantage besides experience in this setting is maybe along the lines. Skill player wise they match up with anyone in the country.

Boise V Oklahoma.

That was a bigger upset.

Yes this is a a big concern and there are parallels.

Bro Utah won in 08 because the team and staff didn't care. They had their sights and hearts set on a national championship and the loss to Florida ruined it. Same thing in the sugar bowl in 2013. That is Nick's weakness. He doesn't prepare the team well when there is nothing on the line. They don't have that problem this year.

Key to the game, IMO. UW has a couple of good tackles and 1 good guard, but the other 2 spots on the line will likely get eaten alive.

Where does this stuff come from? UW will likely start these 4 on the line
- Vita Vea 6'5" 332. CBS has him as the #4 DT for the 2017 draft and a 2nd rounder.
- Elijah Qualls 6'1" 321. Kiper had him at like 11 on his big board earlier this year. Not sure where he's rated now. CBS has him as the #7 DT for the 2017 draft and a 2nd rounder.
- Greg Gaines 6'2" 318. 1st team All Pac-12 and CBS has him as the #7 rated DT for the 2019 class.
- Benning Potoa'e 6'3" 270 OLB/DE. Talented guy, but still young and definitely the weakness along the line.

The question is what will Kiffin do.

If you guys are frustrated with Kiffin's stubbornness to not run the ball, wait until Sark takes over the play calling

You say this, but Sark had a 1000 yard rusher in each of his years there.

I'm not concerned with Washington as much as I am with our own team. Injuries, replacements, play-calling, etc. can be nerve racking. I was a HS coach for 15 years, so I don't look at things like a casual fan.
I also don't look at this game as an automatic W. Those only come on Homecomings! I am confident in my team. I say my team since I AM a graduate of UA. I believe CNS will have them prepared. Washington does have some playmakers. The difference lies in the trenches. I believe that BAMA has the advantage there and will exploit it.

I'm always concerned about a playoff game.
