So you pick and choose with what you agree with to suit your own devices? Just shows you who the true moron is. I never said it was a well-advised throw. I simply said it was an accurate throw (which Danielson and anyone's eyes would agree with). And I also am of the opinion that it should have been caught as it hit the receiver in not one, but both hands.

In a route running drill you'd be right. But if your receiver played it perfectly, and the defensive played it perfectly, and AJ played it the exact same, the receiver never would have touched the ball. Since it was a dumb throw...

Ask me again at the end of the season with the all world line that graduated. If he has a year like he did last year then he is very underrated.

Yea so he needs 3 national title rings in all 3 years as a starter for him to not be underrated. Gotcha.

I have to admit, I thought I understood football until today. I never realized that a quarterback has to make a split second decision not ONLY if the receiver is open, but whether the receiver might get hit and pop the ball up in the air, because hitting him in the hands isn't enough against the mind-numbing Aggie defense.

You are assuming that the ball should even have hit him in the hands in the first place. If AJ saw that safety, he probably wouldn't have thrown it assuming there was no way he could get it to he receiver before the defensive back.

Who is arguing that it wasn't a dumb throw? This whole thing began when I simply said it bounced off his receiver's hands. You for some reason took issue with it - even though I am 100% right on that score.

And throughout this discussion we have come to learn that you don't know what an accurate throw is, that you don't know your right from your left, and you certainly have no clue concerning the expectations placed upon a wide receiver when both of his hands are grasping the football.

And yet the ball hit Kenny Bell's hands BEFORE he got hit by the DB. When the ball hits both hands it should be caught.

The implication is that he "should" have caught it. If everyone did their job once the ball was in the air, that would have been a successful play for Alabama. Which is false.

Great quarterbacks make throws that would be too risky for other quarterbacks. I wouldn't want him to make that throw the second time, but when you make the throw and hit the receiver in the hands, the interception is not your fault.

The rest of the conversation is just speculation and silliness.

That's because he should have. When you have two hands on the ball, no matter how ill-advised your QB's throw may have been, it is your job to catch it. A failure to do so is on you, not your QB.

This is a clear example of how that is wrong.

Because I'm bored and there's nothing else to do on a Sunday afternoon.

And we only have another two weeks before all this is moot and the Aggies will have crawled back under their cactus.

It hit Kenny Bell in both hands. He should have come down with the football.

Hell nah. Alabama has the same record if you take any QB off any of the top 30 teams in the country. AJ ain't shite.

I don't think Aaron Murray would have drove us back to beat LSU.

Nope...he would have had the ball tipped up into the air and picked.

It only hit him the hands because Howard Matthews went for the hit. He shouldn't have even touched it whatsoever.

I can see how it looks that way to the naked eye, but people who understand football know that the defensive back chose to let it hit the receiver in the hands and wait for the ball to pop into the air. It's just basic pass coverage 101.
