What condition would be acceptable to see Alabama play again in Legion Field (obviously not the Birmingham Bowl) ?

A road opponent agrees to move the game to Legion.

No, just a reminder for younger Rantards that Bama didn't play on their own campus throughout most of their glory years from 1930-1999.

Pretty sure Bryant Denny was being used during those years

At the time, it was a mixture of being too late and being too poor.

Yep - As I said, pre-Saban almost all of Bama's greatest all time wins were at Legion.

Look - I get all of the reasons why the games moved on campus....I remember it all well and know all of the backstories as to the City of Birmingham's issues, Auburn's issues, the mindset of Bama's leadership, and certainly the current state of affairs as it relates to the stadium and surrounding area....blah, blah, blah....

What I am saying if you grew up a Bama fan in Birmingham, Legion Field in its heyday was awesome. To me Legion is akin to Fenway Park, Wrigley, Old Trafford, or any old legendary stadium...obviously it's heyday was a loooong time ago but that is the way I feel about it.

Now cue some jackoff Auburn or Bama fan to tell me what a shithole Legion is t
I'm from Tuscaloosa, but I view Rickwood Field much the same way. Back in the 50s we'd drive (about 2 hours back then) old B'ham Highway up to watch the Barons on the weekends. I saw some great future major leaguers (and Hall of Famers) play on that field when I was a boy.

Especially since they improved 82 from Prattville to Tuscaloosa.
They've still got work to do, but than goodness you can bypass Centerville now.

I'm nearly 70 and they've been working on that road since I was a kid!...the Great Wall of China was built quicker that that!

Alabama would play the cupcakes at Bryant Denny.... which is why the Crystal Palace has an absurd W-L ratio.

First off he said Bama didn't play in Tuscaloosa from 1930-1999 which is flat out false. Second they did not play just cupcakes at BDS. Half the SEC schedule was played there

Yep - in those days, all the big SEC games were at Legion: Iron Bowl, TSIO, and LSU.
