Faxis - that was not ownage. That was showing your arse.
That was hurling ego-driven pseudo-intellectual horse shite at yourself.
I'd appreciate it if you'd step down off your Northern Louisiana pedestal for a moment. The same goes for anyone else in this thread who's sitting smugly atop a "directional" high horse... I think there's some common ground that needs to be found here.
Indulge me for a moment.
I'm from SELA. I was living in NOLA during Katrina and more or less had my world pulled out from under me. I evacuated before the storm and watched the destruction unfold on the television. I stayed in Shreveport 3 whole days before my concern for friends who remained in the FQ became overwhelming. On the 4th day I returned to New Orleans (falling in behind a National Guard caravan after dark in a Jeep Willys sporting a brand new homemade cammo paint job...but that's another story).
Consider this a "Universal Truth": If you weren't living in Katrina's wake when it happened - you have no right to throw it in the face of somebody who was. You have no idea how callous, ignorant and ugly it makes you appear.
Okay - shifting gears now.
I like Shreveport. I once walked out of a job in Dallaas upon learning that Halifax Plantation was being razed... because there were photographs I HAD to take before it was gone. I UNDERSTAND Shreveport. I know that under all the industrial trappings, there's plantation stock. "Decadence" defined... its roots are (Surprise surprise) with a more genteel segment of historically landed society... and the hatred for the often misappropriated "backwater" label runs deep.
That being said - let me now clarify: New Orleans is a glorious cesspool founded upon debauchery and everything that's good about what's bad. Shreveport is something Arkansas threw up then gilded by gambling...except on Sunday. Monroe, Alexandria, Laffy, Lake C.... I'd break y'all down too if I weren't so tired already.
Nobody's "culture" is any less f*cked up than the other guy's. All y'all hurling insults and lambasting each other from atop your regional soap boxes need to take a moment, step back and eat a bag of dicks.
I hate hating people from where I'm from - so knock it off....and group hug.
Maybe we can all catch an Indy Bowl together...

Alot of these dipshits here have never been out of their own parish. Without taxes from NLA we would be even more fricked down here than we already are. So yes we do need NLA more than NLA needs us.
So you think 2 years of taxes from the Haynesville Shale equals 40 years of taxes from the Gulf of Mexico?
I work in the industry, and have been all over the world drilling for Oil and Gas, so I know plenty about the Oil Patch.

So you do realize it wasn't until 2 years ago that Louisiana started earning the royalties from the Gulf? Try again bud.

MW 2 or 3 vs ACC 4 or 5 will run it out of business? I highly doubt that.
Seriously?
First off consider the fact it's in Shreveport where no one wants to go.
Second off consider the location in comparison to the MWC and ACC teams. Outside of Texas Christian in the MWC and FSU/GT in the ACC you're looking at absurdly long distances to travel for the possible teams that could play it.
Lastly none of the fanbases travel very well in the ACC. A couple can travel okay but most don't travel well at all. MWC you'll be lucky to get a good draw out of Utah/BYU coming all the way down to Shreveport.

That bowl is more like punishment than a reward for players and fans.
Good. Let them have fun in Shreveport..

So....is there another bowl that is going to pick up a Big 12 and Sec match up?
There is a new bowl in houston. the TEXAS BOWL. Pits navy vs missouri. word has its nearly sold out 72,000. Just guessing, but houston would be a great city for a sec/big12 matchup vs shreveport.
