The screen to richardson out of the fivewide has been a decoy in itself for the most part this year. Usually it has been a crossing route to someone or a screen on the other side to maze. Though, i encourage them to be the first team that doesnt bite on the fake screen.

Well, this thread just confirms that LSU has some stupid, football illiterate fans. 5 wide set = screens, slants, curls, and crossing routes. That is basically what WVU used to abuse LSU's secondary. They just shot themselves in the foot every other possession. If anything, a 5 wide set is used to neutralize a pass rush.

If UA comes out in a 5 wide set, what will your reaction be?
McElwain's gonna be fired by the end of the First Quarter.

It is going to be really interesting on this board if UA comes out and uses that formation to great success.

So you think you guy's have the horses to run the spread? Please god let Saban run a spread with AJ and one of the nations best RB's! You sir are the idiot

Am I saying UA is going to do a Leach Texas Tech impression? No.

Not sure if you're aware of the fact LSU stomped WVU's arse.

It won't be Texas Tech, but you will see a five wide formation...How do I know this? Because we do it all the time.
Do you honestly think Bama is an I formation, run it off tackle, team?

Uh, No! Think about 5 WR sets, now think you are Alabama. Now, who looks stupid. This is just some crazy diverson to bide time before this Epic game.

You haven't heard about the legend of Blake Sims. He runs a 4.3 forty barefoot on gravel and has a cannon for an arm. We have kept him under wraps for most of the year, just let him have a few carries in mop up duty.

It will confuse LSU fans. Has Bama done this in big games in the past? If they have, it probably won't confuse the LSU defense.

I'm not so sure about 5, but I do expect them to be come out in at least 4 WR. It makes a lot of sense. It will make it easier for Mccarron to pass, and easier for Richardson to run.
Not to hijack the thread, but
What do you think are the chances you think Richardson lines up on KO return a time or two tomorrow night? I brought this up last night as a question and the rantards responded with either it's dumb because Maze is more explosive, or I have no idea because I never watch 'Bama.
I think it's just as possible for them to mix things up and throw in a wrinkle with 4 or 5 WR's as it is for Richardson to get a shot at KO return.

That would be playing right into LSU's hands. Go ahead....try that spread bullshite

5 wides should work great since we have such a slow defense - I didn't know Saban posted on this site!

Alabama is a I form, off tackle when productive! You are crazy or don't know youre coach well if you think he will not be ultra conservative and try to run north/south. Guy's this is the first real threat Bama has faced and the gameplan will be according to every other matchup like this that Saban has coached in.

I'd say WTF are they doing?

I think with Lacey having a toe thing, the chances are greatly diminished. Saban has said he likes getting the ball in the hands of playmakers, but I think it would be a huge risk to stick Richardson out there again...
With that said, UA doesn't pay me to think.

You are aware that mixing in some 4 and 5 wide formations doesn't mean a team is running a spread offense right? Do you even know what a spread offense is?
