OU seems to have no issue beating SEC schools...certainly not Arkansas.

The conference is already too big IMO. If we add any more schools then it's inevitable some big name SEC schools look elsewhere.

This obsession is getting stupid. We are on the verge of losing what's great about college football conferences and frick whatever the TV markets say. IDGAF what the ratings are, I just want to beat the teams I currently hate and get license talk shite at their fans for a year.

No interest in turning into NFL-Lite

Is Memphis or Georgia Tech a reasonable option to join the SEC?

Uhh, no thank you.

GT left on its own accord for similar reasons decades ago.

If Oklahoma comes to the SEC; the SEC is ruined. adding that state to the network footprint is not a legitimate reason to add those frickers. they will not fit in at all. they are not even close to any point in the southeast. frick Oklahoma.

You've never once set foot in the state of OK have you? We don't do safe spaces, protests, or eat kale or tofu, cochise.

Do you guys realize how crazy difficult it will be to win the SEC if OU joined what is already the most dominant conference?

It's really simple actually. If OU leaving meant that OSU would be abandoned in a conference like the AAC, those 30-40% of state legislators who are fans of, or went to OSU (or have powerful constituents like Boone Pickens) would fight like hell to keep OU from leaving. Same way lowly Baylor fought its way into the Big 12 when the SWC merged with the Big 8.

Alabama, Oklahoma, and Arkansas would have to do something with their uniforms. I don't care how classic they are. Draw straws or something.

ETA: And no redos, Alabama

OU doesn't do anything for the SEC. They can stay where they are.

This may be the most idiotic statement I've seen on here in awhile.

Really? Slice locked us into an awful contract with ESPN while the Big 10 took a risk with its own network. The only way to break that bad contract was to expand. Slice then proceeds to lock us into another long term contract while the Big 10 is about to renegotiate their contract.

Slice is a reactionary bitch who ruined our conference. West teams never get to play at eastern teams but once a decade now thanks to that moron. On top of it he did not have the ball to demand a 9 game schedule.

You don't have the SEC Network without the moves Slive made during his tenure. And the SEC is the only P5 without a Grant of Rights to lock members in.

He's not perfect but he's certainly better than a commish that let his conference damn near collapse twice (B12) or a commissioner that wrote a fricking pussified public letter loathing the SEC (B1G).
