If OU came (alone), it seems logical that they would be in the Western Division (assuming we didn't go to 4 pods) and someone would need to be added to the East.

16 teams practically GUARANTEES pods.

Oklahoma would be a very good fit in terms of athletics. One of the premier, blue-blood football teams, solid basketball and baseball year in and year out.

However, considering the TV network argument, I just don't know how much a state with a population of 3.8 million appeals to that. Sure, they've got tons of alumni in Dallas, but so does Texas A&M, LSU, and Arkansas.

Also, if we were to accept them, surely we wouldn't bring "tag along" Oklahoma State with us, right? If not, that would only split up the TV markets even further.

The North Carolina/Virginia schools are the only logical choice for expansion.

All jokes aside, I wouldn't mind OU coming and OSU coming with them. Not sure how that would affect the East/West alignments. Auburn wants to go to the East, maybe someone else goes with them?

Oklahoma State? Really? Man, they do absolutely nothing for me...

I'd rather Oklahoma and then go after Miami, UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech than Oklahoma State.

I would too, but I don't think anyone in the ACC is making a move. I'd rather see OU and UNC, but it's just doubtful now that the ACC is getting a network and more revenue.

Miami's administration and former fans have shown they couldn't care less about the program.

As far as OSU, I love traditional rivalries. Hate to see them go.

Is Memphis or Georgia Tech a reasonable option to join the SEC?

Living up here in the Dallas area, it is hard to tell if this is North Texas or South Oklahoma sometimes.

And A&M couldn't move without Texas and the Texas dwarfs.

If the XII goes belly up all bets are off for taking care of any little brothers.

The SEC wouldn't take Texas because three of its members left leagues because of them.

Arkansas left the SWC because of Texas.
Mizzou and aTm left the Big 12 because of Texas.

It's actually 5 teams. Let's not forget Nebraska and Colorado.

This. Why]can't Oklahoma move without Oklahoma State? I feel like this is just something people say in hopes that it sticks.

It would have to be some sort of contract (which those are never broken ) or state statute (which are never amended ) preventing the two from separating.

OU would have to cut ties w/ OSU much like A&M did w/UT... If that could happen, then Enter Sandman and bring on the Hokies

That's all it is. Make believe.

If the Big 12 folds, they both will likely go different ways.

The Oklahoma flagship radio station has said as much. Anyone who says there is legislation or any of that, is full of bull crap and doesn't know what the heck they're talking about.

OU runs Oklahoma and they'll do what they want.

Aggy would be stoked! Wouldn't mind another 77-0 regular season affair :)

Oklahoma would bring a lot athletics wise. Gymnastics which would compete with Alabama, Florida, Georgia for year after year supremacy; softball which is a national heavyweight; basketball which Kruger has got OU rolling in; and of course its winning football tradition.

Sure they bring a ton of football history with them but the SEC isn't exactly starved on that and Oklahoma the state doesn't bring a lot of TV sets to the dance.

OU brings a nationwide fan base the second most football revenue in the SEC and the same state population size of Mississippi, Kentucky, and is almost as Many people as Alabama.
