My realistic expectations are 6-8 wins in year one. Odom has done a really good job backfilling some holes in the roster in the time he had to do it, but the OL is still a concern for me and without that you simply won't be good on offense. The defense will be good. We have an elite front, an above average back 7 and Odom is a great defensive coach. I see special teams also being better purely for the fact we added one of the countries best KO returners to the mix. We really missed Murphy last year.

And I expect a complete dogfight when we play you guys. Our O-line should be and better be improved and let's hope Chubb and Sony are healthy.I know our OC cannot possibly be worse than Schotty (you guys warned us)

Sony got 25 total carries in the first 3 SEC games on the schedule and still finished 6th in the conference in rushing on 140 carries. The offensive line still has to make holes even for players like Chubb to hit the second level untouched.

Nope, not that you still don't need to make holes but you certainly don't need as much with Chubb. I'll give you an example, we had almost the same group of O- line returning in '15 from '14.One of our guards (Greg Pyke) was a preseason All SEC and AA based off Chubb's rushing success in '14.By the end of the year he was benched.

Sony is good but not close to Chubb (when healthy)Our QB play also dropped significantly after Chubb was hurt and he was also eventually benched. Our offense went to shite after his injury and our OC ( Schotty) was in way over his head.

What is a quality team? MU beat aTm and Arkansas in 2014. Both teams had overall winning records and beat ranked teams during their season. The 7-6 Hogs overall opponent adjusted FEI was 18th in the nation vs the #7 SOS. aTm's opponent adjusted offensive FEI was 15th in the nation against the #10 SOS. Florida was flawed offensively but had one of the best defenses in the nation. Their adjusted FEI rank was #8 in the country against the #14 SOS.

Those 3 arent quality teams. Way too many losses among them. Keep in mind you got to play Driskell and a broken back Allen, which made both teams weaker than they were otherwise.

When is Sony expected back and is it expecting a little too much for Chubb to be back to full speed?

Supposedly 6 to 8 weeks and I'd rather have Chubb sit out vs UNC and be 100% vs you guys but the guy is a complete freak.I think his biggest issue will be between the ears as opposed anything physical.

The guy is amazing and I know I saw some post about him running full speed awhile ago. Making cuts and taking hits are two different things. I know it took Henry Josey longer to come back but his injury was probably more severe.

Wish him a full recovery. He's a great back.

I don't really expect us to legitimate players for the East this year unless the OL really surprises, but by year 3 I do expect it. I have supreme faith in Odom. He's the guy.

I was wondering. I knew your front 7 was legit, but we all get on here and say stuff to aggravate everybody else. It will be interesting to see how the new coaches perform over the next 3-4 years.

A few posts earlier you said that one player wouldn't make that much of a difference.

So Chubb can make a difference on one side of the ball but Beckner can't?

We can agree to disagree.
