They don't suck defensively and will have plenty of time to figure things out before Oct 1st. A win isn't likely but LSU's offense isn't going to roll up and down the field like you presumably think it will.

It must suck to have your entire worth tied to a football team where you didn't even go to school, baw

Mesa disagree. At least 3 TD lead.

Which elite RBs has Mizzou stopped in the last year or so? Have the kept any of them under 100 yards?

MU's defense didn't allow 200 yds rushing in a game until the last two weeks of the season in 2015. This coincided with Terry Beckner's knee injury vs BYU. Both Beckner and Harold Brantley will be healthy this fall. MU's front 7 is going to be very good.

The talent gap and overall better coaching. I think the offense finally shows up. But even if it doesn't. same same.

Mizzou fans are going to be a holy terror on tRant once we start winning again.

You think your jimmies were rustled in 13 and 14. Just fricking wait.

Getting to serious talk here....what do you think is reasonable to expect form you guys this year? I mean.. your DL is obviously one of the best in the country, but your offense was pretty bad last year. Lock looks to be a pretty good QB, and that should elevate your Offense a bit, but he is still a bit of an unknown.

Do you guys really think you will win, or how do you think it will shake out? I think part of the Rants problem is we honestly don't know a lot o about your team, so we tend to overlook you. Time and success should fix that, but you took a big step back last season and that allows many to point and say, "SEE! I told you so!"

Here is how I look at it:

1. Tennessee
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. Missouri
5. Vanderbilt
6. South Carolina
7. Kentucky

5-7 could go either way...the only reason I put Vandy up there is their defense, and I feel like Spurrier left SouCar empty, but i could be wrong there, too.

Missouri taught me in 2013 that they have quality players and seem to be able to maximize the talent they have. (Hard to say about this year with a new head coach, though.) So....what are your honest feelings on this?

So a freshman DT being out was the reason UT and Arky ran all over you? C'mon, yes I know he's good but good God,they were the 2 best rushing teams you played all season.

Lets face facts UF,UGA and Mizzou all had top 10 defenses because the SECE offenses really sucked including ours.UT was the only top flight offense left in the East after Grier went out at UF.

Yes,your defense will be good as will ours and UF but they were all a little overrated last year due to the competition.

Muschamp was a Georgia guy, born and bread, but I wouldn't want him as our coach. He did a great job as your DC, though, so it will be interesting to see how that translates to Head coach. I'm going to make a statement, and I don't want you to take it the wrong way. Read the entire thing I say.

You would probably rather have Odom because you know him and he knows Missouri. he is one of you.

I am the same way about Smart. I feel like he has had a lot of experience under Saban...he is a Georgia guy...and we are familiar with him and he with us.

Now we will both have to wait and see if they work out for our schools.

Beckner was 4th on the team in TFLs per game when he got hurt and was a two gap defender. If you want to discount that loss, so be it.

MU held onto the ball for 23 and 19 minutes in those two games and ran 59 and 52 plays total. The defense faced 76 and 69 allowing 337 and 310 total yds of offense while forcing UT to punt 7 times and Arkansas punted 6 times.

Neither of those losses was on the defense.

Believe me I'm well aware how a shitty offense can effect a defense but ultimately they surrendered 200 yards on the ground to the 2 best rushing teams they played.Sorry, don't think Beckner would have made much of a difference even though he looks like a beast and future 1st rounder he was still a freshman.

If Sony and Chubb aren'the healthy by the 1st and especially the 2nd game I'm afraid our offense will be in the same boat at least at the beginning of the season.

Actually per conference stats, UGA and UT were the best rushing teams MU played. Arkansas was #3
SEC Conference Rushing Stats

With Beckner rotating with Hatley at the 3Tech on a 60/40 split, UGA ran for 120 yds on 45 carries (2.67 YPC) and no TDs with a 17 min TOP advantage.

Hatley rotated with True FR Josh Moore vs UT and Arkansas on a 75/25 split. Moore has a lot of upside but played last year at 260 lbs.

UT ran for 248 yds on 51 carries (4.86 YPC) and 1 TD and a 13 minute TOP advantage.

Arkansas ran for 201 yds on 52 carries (4 YPC) and 4 TDs and a 21 minute TOP advantage.

Beckner being out of the rotation mattered.

Yea,and UGA was the EXACT same rushing team w/out Chubb. Are you really going this far to make your point?

Why don't you check out our stats before and after the UT game and get back to me.

Do you honestly believe for 1 second we were a better rushing team than Arkansas post Chubb?

My realistic expectations are 6-8 wins in year one. Odom has done a really good job backfilling some holes in the roster in the time he had to do it, but the OL is still a concern for me and without that you simply won't be good on offense. The defense will be good. We have an elite front, an above average back 7 and Odom is a great defensive coach. I see special teams also being better purely for the fact we added one of the countries best KO returners to the mix. We really missed Murphy last year.

I don't really expect us to legitimate players for the East this year unless the OL really surprises, but by year 3 I do expect it. I have supreme faith in Odom. He's the guy.
