Alabama doesn't have anywhere near the fan base that Texas has and Texas' network is a massive failure (The biggest failure in ESPN history). Each SEC team for the past two years has made more money from TV than Texas and Notre Dame.
So go ahead and leave the SEC ala Tulane and Georgia Tech. The rest of us will laugh all the way to the bank.

Alabama is poor yes but population wise Alabama is in the top half in the US. It's not a very small state. Leaving the SEC is ludicrous

Good luck with that. I don't care what you think about the tradition, if you did leave the conference their is no way in hell Tennessee and Auburn schedule you. They would have no advantage doing it. You lose any leverage you have with recruits and they have the upper hand when facing you for recruits. As arrogant and full of yourself as you are Alabama would be nothing without the SEC.
