Oh well. I think I am going to get absolutely shitfaced tomorrow night, take off Thursday, and pretend Pat Dye is still our coach or something. Hell, even Tubs.

Would do it tonight, but I'm afraid I might go to far and not survive.

Does it matter? He still interviewed with your hated rival, and never came out and said he was choosing to stay at Bama. Did I mention he interviewed with your hated rival? The DC of your team getting ready to play in the biggest game spent the last couple days talking to us?

That he's waiting around for the Georgia or Alabama job? Yeah, that's hilarious.

Judging by the "high-ups" in Auburn and their past, it's likely the other way around. They only had REAL interest in Gus Malzahn. And you know what? That fricking sucks. A lot of us Auburn fans knew a hire like this was coming.

Did I mention Kirby turned down $2.3 million/yr to coach AU because he ultimately decided it wasn't worth the money?

Me? Bobby Petrino, without a doubt.

When I found out Patterson and Petrino wouldn't happen? I was praying hard for Kirby Smart over Gus Malzahn.

You got a link to that? Because I can provide you with plenty saying he was interested in the school that occupies the hollow area between your ears.

Someone on BOL who claims to know Kirby's family pretty well said that they couldn't come to terms for agreement.

Kirby wanted complete control and the ability to build his own staff from the ground up.

Auburn folks asked that he keep a couple of the assistants since they had multi-year deals or something like that.

He also said that Kirby wanted more money than what was offered.

I actually believe all of this. It makes total sense.
