Aside from the obvious suspects, I'm sure UF and SCar has concerns considering they have FSU and Clemson. I'd guess OM, MSU, Vandy, UK, SCar, UF, UGA would be opposed. I have no idea why LSU is.

Because we know that Bama will get another Bottom feeder as a SEC opponent (Kentucky anyone?)

They are all neutral site games. That is how it works in today's college football environment. It is happening to college basketball as well.

It only works that way if that's how you want it to work. UGA schedules home and homes all the time. They're great.

Alabama could even schedule a neutral game and a home and home game in the same season (gasp)

I doubt that

Think about it this way. Most major college programs would love to host Alabama (big $) and would be willing to travel to Alabama one year to make that happen.

Y'all have a mediocre OOC rival that you play every year. That is the only difference outside of UGA apparently preferring to play home and homes and Alabama preferring neutral site games.

That's a pretty big difference.

Y'all can shite on GT all you want (it's a lot of fun), but the truth is that they've been in the top half of major college football programs over the last 10 years. They've played in conference championships, BCS bowls, etc. Them not being able to beat UGA doesn't change that.

The conference could gain a lot by scheduling the GTs of the world more often. Not every OOC game has to be a top level team. You could play one neutral game against a good team, and then a home and home with a UVA or UNC. They'd love that opportunity, the fans would get to take a cool trip, UA probably wins both home and away, everybody wins.

The 9th team would rotate. I did an actual check of the scheduling since expansion (1992) for the 'Big 6'. Not counting the divisional and permanent rival games which would be the same amount these are the counts (LSU vs UGA/UT, UF vs. AU/UA, etc) for regular season games.

1. UF 22 games
2. AU 21 games
3. UT 15 games
4. LSU 15 games
5. UA 14 games
6. UGA 13 games

UT is currently down but there are down times for all these teams. Hell, if Booms 3rd OC doesn't pan out, they are going to be in some trouble also.
=========================
I hate to say it but UF and AU have the biggest complaint (especially Gators who have FSU every year)...but I don't hear them complaining.

I'm not sure WTF is so funny, LSU has the same OOC scheduling policy as Alabama. Maybe you like playing those garbage games like Towson at home? I don't.

9 games would have been a good way to force a change for the better but at least they are keeping the rivalry games. I suppose I can deal.

Or you could just play 9 conference games

I'd like a 9 game slate, 1 major OOC, 1 state school (LaTech, ULM, ULL calibre) and 1 practice game.

UGA's situation has been explained ad nauseum on here. We'd much rather keep what little scheduling flexibility we already have than lose it totally. We can live with not playing West teams as often.

Same here, but I'm in indifferent on the state school idea.

So you don't want to lose a game against your traditional rival?

There's some decent competition in the state and the money stays in-house so to speak.

I wouldn't mind to play Troy or UAB every year.

So you understand why we don't want to end TSIO.

I guess not being from the state leads me to not caring if we play them or not.

Do you think I'm advocating that? We don't want to lose DSOR either. We wanted 6-1-1
