We played Texas last year and beat that arse. If Ole Miss can schedule good OOC opponents and take care of business, then surely the almighty Alabama and LSU should be able to do the same every year.

I guess I'm not as sympathetic to OOC rivalries

Furthest thing from a tough OOC game

I'll give you WVU though.

WVU lost to William and Mary last year, they're not too far off

But it's better than we're doing this year, so I can't hate

I know I just like our history with So Miss I remember watching several great Bama/So Miss games and was in the stadium as well for Prothro's "The Catch" game

It's because Georgia was going to be short home games and still wanted to be able to schedule good OOC games. DWI

The network (espn) will essentially enforce it next time. It's a no brainer television-wise, and it is only simple for scheduling in regards to the playoffs.

The schools against it have no sack.

I didn't like the idea of 9 games. At least 3 teams would never go for it, understandably, but I would like 10 games. 6-2-2. Auburn and UF can renew their rivalry. Would prefer someone other than UK this time around.

If 9 games would limit OOC games then 10 games would frickin kill it

Why?
ESPN would rather get a larger pick of games to choose from as opposed to the limited handful that SEC only matchups provide (14 games is greater than 7).

The SEC already made the transition that the conference picks the conference schedule first. And that schools must fill in their OOC around that TV slate.
This allows ESPN an opportunity to make sure that they have quality SEC programming every week... guaranteed. No need to go 9 game schedules to get there.

This was the smartest, most practical, and most profitable decision by far.

Some are just too inbred to get it.

It was the most practical but it wasn't the smartest. It was a good decision for Georgia, but a terrible decision for the conference.

The conference makes more money.

How is that bad for the conference?

See my idea is a couple steps

Expand to 9 games

Move AU to the SEC East and 9 games allows them to continue Bama rivalry game

To balance, move Mizzou to the SEC West

Boom balanced for another 2 team expansion or staying put

The conference already makes a ton of money, but long term the double directional game inventory is going to hurt the bottom line.

By protecting the integrity of the conference championship game? What's more long term than that?

we can agree to disagree, i guess.

This is the stupidest shite I've ever heard. A 9 game schedule with 14 teams is the same as an 8 game schedule with 12. You're fricking stupid.
