LSU played WVU in 2010 and 2011 also. Is the rest of the list right?

2010 Bama also played Duke, but they were 3-9.

It can be, makes no sense. There are some opposed due to bowl eligibility requirements. But there are others that really don't have that concern.

It was a disappointing announcement.

IMO, LSU has played the better OOC opponents.

I wanted 9 too but whatever. I'm also sick and fricking tired of seeing rent a wins in BDS. Maybe Saban will follow through on all his talk of a tougher schedule and upgrade ours without the SEC.

I agree wholeheartedly

I know some SEC East teams like UF, UGA, & SCar are concerned about their OOC rivalry games, but come on man. Like I posted I'd much rather Slive just force every team to get rid of their FCS opponent game even if it is an extra home game it balances out expenses at best because of the massive paycheck the SEC teams pay the FCS opponents to come in and take a whoopin and leave.

There are 14 SEC teams, 7 in each division

After playing every division team just add 2 out of division teams one home and one away

Then 2 BCS teams (and if you have a rivalry game OOC it will take one of these games place) and a non-BCS team

It isn't like the NCAA D1 isn't expanding and adding new teams every year

It isn't that hard

Georgia has of any SEC team IMO

LSU and Bama both have or will play WVU

Duke while terrible was still a BCS team

LSU has a rivalry game with a non-BCS team also an interesting difference

Do we have any easy wins in the conference? The schedule is tough enough with 8 and now you want to add in another game plus the conference championship. The SEC is trying to win the NC and possibly have 2 reps in the playoffs.

I see no reason why an easier game couldn't be subbed by every school.

It saves money (schools don't have to shell out the bucks to another mid-major)

Helps competition. Iron sharpens Iron

Clearer picture of a champion on each side

The most important to me, it keeps teams with multiple cross-division rivalry games from deteriorating those rivalries and frees up an extra space for future expansion of the SEC

The decision made today handcuffed the conference I love to its past not allowing it to sail smoothly into the future

Sure you do..as long is not Georgia, Florida or South Carolina.

Aside from the obvious suspects, I'm sure UF and SCar has concerns considering they have FSU and Clemson. I'd guess OM, MSU, Vandy, UK, SCar, UF, UGA would be opposed. I have no idea why LSU is.

Yes the school that voted for the 9 game schedule is afraid of the schools who don't want it. It makes so much sense.

Bama is afraid of playing tough OOC games on the road.
The 9 game schedule is a distraction from that and a recruiting pitch for every family in South Carolina, Florida, Missouri, and Kentucky.

We played at Penn State like 3 seasons ago.

You do realize scheduling a home and home requires two schools right? How many big time teams do you think really want to come play at Alabama right now?

We've started off every season under Saban against a marquee opponent.

The SEC HQ doesn't care about tradition. They care about 1) money; and 2) keeping the in-state people happy.

It's time to fire some people and relocate the HQ to another state. It would be nice to play a baseball tournament somewhere other than top tourist destination Hoover, AL or play a bowl game in Birmingham .

The likelihood of the SEC HQ representing all 14 universities and 11 states equally is about the same as a holding penalty being called on their darling favorites.

Any more scheduled or in the works? I think that Penn State series would have been scheduled pre-Saban, considering how far out schedules are planned. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Then we would have a 9 game conference schedule, unless they are favoring Auburn in this situation.

Yes locating it in a very central location is a terrible idea.

It's college baseball and last I checked the tournament is doing pretty well in Hoover

What does this have to do with anything? There are like 40 bowl games.

They are all neutral site games. That is how it works in today's college football environment. It is happening to college basketball as well.

I doubt that
