That's not all there is to a dline and Dobbs is an escape artist.

You're right and I'm sure Dobbs will find his creases at times. I think the point that was made earlier is that our ends are extremely fast. They can get there before those creases have time to open up. It will be interesting. Like 808 said, strength versus strength.

Wait. He just didn't play the first two series? I thought he came in late in the game.

It only felt that way because Peterman is so bad and we were getting blown out. Dobbs led what looked to be a comeback before Bama stopped it and scored near the end but we got down wayyy too early in that game. He actually outscored Bama the last 3QS but we dug a big hole.

Thanks. So they are even with a slight edge to Missouri. I say the Vols can put up 27 points. They put up 20 on Bama with Dobbs not playing the first two series.

19-17 is not even. The non-con was more imbalanced.

Let's just say it will be fun watching our guys chase your guy.

One additional thought: We get good pressure up the middle with our four DT's, who all get a lot of snaps. Your backup at center being effective may be crucial to your chances in this game. Missouri is also 2nd in the conference in TFL total yards, after Florida.

Didn't I hear your center is out with a high ankle sprain and knee sprain? Or was he just injured last weekend but playing

Rolled it bad in the UK game - I mean it looked fricking awful. So Weisman will be starting at Center (he played the rest of the UK game and did ok - a few weird snaps that hopefully they'll work out this week). Weisman is a mean center, he has some experience but has had injury issues this year.

Mizzou has 19 sacks in six conference games. Bama has 17 in seven. Saban's defenses at Bama have pretty much always been elite, but it hasn't been because of the pass rush. I believe the most sacks Bama has had under him is 35. When Mizzou has great defense, the key is getting pressure with the front four.

Ouch. That sucks. Thought I had heard that somewhere along the line. Hopefully he gets back to strength.

They're saying high ankle sprain but it wouldn't surprise me if his MCL didn't go as well. The way his leg bent wasn't right at ALL. That said, we have an RT playing with no ACL (blew out in game one when he was LT - rehabbed for a while and decided he was coming back to finish his senior season) so what's an MCL here or there. In all seriousness, I hope it's just a high ankle sprain but those things are such a catch-all injury (some need surgery, some take weeks to rehab, some only take a little while to heal) that who knows if Crowder will be back before a bowl game.

Damn. So it was on the same play? I can't watch that stuff. Call me a pussy. As for ACL, I blew mine out and I have no clue how you play without one. Forget the pain, what is there to hold the knee in place?

What year is Crowder?

There's a lot of history and reasons behind our athletic department difficulties. Most of it involves a horrid woman.

Can we leave gender out of this, and just identify the position?

Is a male administrator a horrid man for his opinions/actions or just a horrid administrator?

By the way, I know you are one of the good guys!

UT hasn't shown that they can beat us since we join the SEC, why should we worry now

Don't worry - be happy! That's a huge sample that predicts the outcome into the indefinite future - 2 games

Ready to sit back and watch the comments roll in from mizz faithful citing all the times they've been counted out before, with nary a word about the actual upcoming game.

Good teams find a way to win when it seems like they shouldn't.

Mizzou has proven this year that even half assed decent teams with shitty offenses do as well.

ETA: I'm the king of responding to first page posts on the fifth page. Also, Indiana.

It appears that way. We're getting offensive predictions based on 2 games and some change.

Jacob Gilliam is the RT. He was a walkon and 5th year senior who earned a scholly this year and the starting job at LT. He's the kind of player who would've been recruited higher in HS but he had his growth spurt too late and was undersized during the recruitment time frame. He impressed all the coaches (various staffs for Kiffin, Dooley, etc.) but got caught up in the turnover (as soon as one staff was ready to play him there'd be a new coach and as a walkon he'd have to start over from scratch earning the new coach's attention - 4 different position coaches in 4 year and now 5 for Gilliam).

Gilliam just wouldn't be denied. He finally got his chance, a scholarship, a starting role, and wasn't going to let it end with one game. No one thought he'd play again but he rehabbed like hell and found a way to get it stable enough and won the RT job. The entire team looks up to him.

As for Crowder he's a RS Jr. and had limited experience before this year. No one on that line besides Marcus Jackson had much experience.
