the real solution?
do away with the whole idea of "divisions"
make every team pick 4 permanent rival games and rotate the rest of the conference
SEC # 1 plays SEC # 2 for the championship
problem solved AND we get a better championship game

Hell yea! Defend the frick out of Florida, bro!
Gators had a bad year last year
LOOKS like another tough year for them in 2014
But I suspect they will be back as a power before long (at least before Tennessee)
I also suspect that Will Muschamp is not long for the head coaching job in Gainesville...

I thought so especially considering the limited effort necessary to wow the aTmers.

The only "suspects" uga folks know about are their own players

So do we just forget the Egg Bowl? You do know it is the 2nd oldest series in the SEC right?
Posted on 4/30/14 at 3:38 pm to AGoodTexan
BAMA would go independent before that is agreed to.

Yes, it will be missed less than the BAma/UT game for most of us. Sorry.

Georgia shouldn't have to play 2 big OOC games annually while the rest of the SEC has one.
As to that, and in the scenario I have laid out, I would hope Bama would continue to play the Michigan/VA Tech type games in addition to the Tennessee non-conference game. When Tennessee rolls on the conference schedule, I would hope we would play 2 big 5 conference teams. I think the trend should be 10 decent games and only 2 cream puffs for everyone. When 3 of your home games are sisters of the poor it already ruins the home schedule.

Okay, after reading through the thread and finding all of the combinations and permutations of rivals, I think I have the solution:
We'll have two divisions, since they don't really make geographic sense, we'll just call them "Us'uns" and "You'uns".
Us'uns:
Louisiana State
Mississippi
Texas Ag School
rKansas
Alabama-Tuscaloosa
State
Auburn U.
You'uns:
Tennessee
Technically Georgia
Vanderbilt
Clemson
Mizzouri
Florida
Kentucky
6-1-1 rotation, errybody plays errybody else in their division, with one rival x-div rival, and one x-div rotating game.
Permanent x-divisional games:
Clemson - Texas Ag School
rKansas - Mizzouri
Mississippi - Vanderbilt
Kentucky - State
Auburn U. - Technically Georgia.
Tennessee - Alabama-Tuscaloosa
Louisiana State - Florida
That seems like the most fair arrangement given all of the restrictions.

so - replace SC w Clemson and everything else stays the same?
or are you suggesting we drop UGA and replace with GA Tech as well?

No, leave Southern Cal in the Pac.

Technically, UGA is THE University of Georgia.

No, I think your mind was blown before you posted that. WTF are you thinking with that southern division?
