I don't understand the overreaction of the SECR regarding Mullen.

After one win over an average team coached by an Ogre it seems that many are declaring him the next coach at A, B, or C elite program?

I don't get it. Beating LSU is nothing to get excited about. No AD in the country is going to go bat shite crazy over beating LSU and start drawing up contracts for Mullen. If someone wanted him, they would have had him by now.

Nothing about beating LSU/Ogre is worthy of all this talk of Mullen being scooped up by the Aggies or Patriots.

Mullen will be there until he's fired. End of story.

Good game MSU and I know it was fun for you guys. Hope your hangovers aren't too bad still.

Look closer. It's mainly atm fans and they're actually bragging about their ability to get any coach they deem worthy, not a real desire to hire Mullen. They need to be petted every now and then

LSU hate thread hidden with a Mullen title.

WHen you use LSU more than MSU. Its not an MSU thread.

I think you're actually right.

But, I will say that I think there may be a shift toward some guys like Mullen. After all of the "go hire the up and coming coach from CSU, Arkansas State, Cincy" hasn't paid off, I won't be surprised if guys like Mullen start to get more attention.

Definitely an overreaction. That being said, will you be embarrassed when UF loses to "LSU/Ogre"?

Not this Gator. I've been consistent with my opinion of Mullen. I think MSU is perfect for him. I don't think he'd be a fit at UF.

Nothing about that is an attack on him or MSU unless you just want it to be.

Mullen has had his system in place for, what, 8-9 years? If LSU Hitler's him they would want him fired if he didn't win the ship his first year

ETA: that is an unfortunate typo

People don't understand that just because you are a legendary a-hole in the industry and that stops you from being hired, that doesn't mean you are a bad coach.

Florida fans get over this about Mullen and Foley.

This is primarily an LSU board, so when their canoe springs a leak, we all know about it all day every day.

Since Mullen created this hole, he gets all of the attention.

Why would I be embarrassed? I'm not insane. I'd be disappointed but embarrassed? No.

I noticed that you said "when" instead of "if". What was your prediction last year? Was it also "when" we beat you then too?

Conversely, will you be embarrassed to lose two in a row to a crummy team coached by a shark humper?

I've been happy with Mullen from the very beginning, but he wouldn't be a good fit for every situation. He's prickly. He doesn't love to recruit. He's not going to sit in a press conference as second chair to the AD and just remain silent, and he damn sure wouldn't respond well to a school regent calling him out on social media or the press. MSU isn't life or death football like some other programs, and I get the impression that Mullen likes it that way.

He has had many, many wins over average teams at a below average program. He gets lots of credit, rightfully so, for degree of difficulty.

I honestly don't want him. If we settled for him in the end I wouldn't be upset though.

Seems like once a year Merlins & MState have an amazing game and beat someone they weren't expected to beat. Then after that week, they always go back to being the same ol Moo State. Merlins just can't seem to put together a full season with the talent he has at State.

What does it say when your auto-correct chooses "Hitler" as a substitute for another word?

This has been my stance. It's not about his coaching ability.

If we ever hired him, I'd support him until I didn't. Just like I did for Boom and Mac.
