wait, is it true Sumlin didn't recruit Keenum or Manziel?
So what are you suggesting here?
That he can't recruit elite QBs?
Because he's obviously developed them.
So it must be that he can't recruit them. But then you consider that he's on the cusp of signing two five star QBs in consecutive classes--one of which was the country's best. So then your implication crumbles on itself.

the Longhorns also stockpile talent every year, that always translates to success.
So because Mack Brown acquired an ability to squander a massive amount of talent, it follows that the same will hold true with Sumlin?
Why?

Didn't he recruit Sam Bradford at OK?

You can question hypothetical statements like this but then say Bielema is a terrible coach because of one season with probably our worst talent level in 15-20 years.
Makes sense.

I don't know. He was on staff when Sam signed, but he may not have recruited him.
Regardless, he's worked with guys like Bledsoe, Brees, White, Bradford, Keenum, and JFF.
He just sort of keeps lucking his way into all these great QBs.
It's just wild.

No.
All OU had to do was offer to land Bradford.
Bradford wasn't a highly rated recruit either...

If I had said he's terrible you may have a point.
I know this: When you actually analyze his Big 10 record, he's not the coach Arkansas likes to pretend he is.

Petrino would have won with them.

Fantastic coach/QB guru. Great system as well.

Winning as defined by Charlie Sheen?

My point being Sumlin recruited/coached him up. Yet another success story for him. Thanks for helping my point.

Why are we not focusing on the fact Bielema is putting a round peg in a square hole?

Winning games. It's not even debatable that Petrino would have won more games than Bielema.

Dale, my precious boy. You're confused.
I'm not seeking shelter in Sumlin's previous accomplishments. I don't have to. I know that's the default defense mechanism for Arkansas but you need to disentangle your pigs from my Ags.
At this point--and as far as I'm concerned--Sumlin could've pulled a Bert and gone winless at UH in 2011. I wouldn't care.

He is?
Are you saying this based on the lack of QBs and WRs on the roster he inherited?

Bielema's offense will work at Arkansas. It's the defense that is the issue. He's not going to win unless they fix the massive issues in the back seven.

QB's and OL mainly and RB actually (though he has done a great job of getting those)

So you are not concerned with all the NFL talent and first round NFL picks yielding only a Cotton Bowl at best?
And he becomes one of the highest paid HCs after a Chic-Fil-A bowl?
If that was my HC's resume, I would be.
