Who do you want at the top?

That's the problem. Fire a guy that goes 10-2, the coaching gods hate you for it. Then you turn into Tennessee.

He's not horrible, but he isn't going to win at the highest level. I don't want some hotshot assistant, but UGA won't pay for a top tier coach either. They've got money, but are historically very conservative with it.

At some point they have got to realize that you get a good return on your investment if you pay for really good people.

UGA is in a strange state of pergatory.

They are not in UT and AUs situation but they are not in UFs or Bamas either.

I wonder if Oklahoma fans feel this way. Stoops is a 10 win but nothing more coach too.

Yeah that is my thoughts

Not sure what MR mkaes but I have a hard time seeing UGA shelling out 4-5 million based on their past tendencies. I think they would go the co-ord route and there would be a building period and I don't see most UGA fans being happy with that

Agree completely. I've had the gut feeling for a while that we'd accomplished all we ever would with Richt, but kept hoping that I'd be proven wrong.

I try to remain positive and withhold complete judgement until the end of the season (probably part of my delusional hopes to be proven wrong) because you do never know what can happen, but dammit man if it ain't the same song and dance over and over again.

Yes, I like Richt and think he is a class act, but I think you've reached your glass ceiling with him as HC, and Georgia's glass ceiling should be higher than it is right now. In the meantime, I think the Hogs ceiling is going to be much lower without CBP.

We are by God GEORGIA, and we are now something like 0 for the last 16 against teams that finished the year ranked.

Richt is 111-39.

He has the best win percentage at your school since Herman Stegeman went 20-6-3 in 1920-1922. Yes, better than Vince Dooley. He is 10-1 against your biggest rival(Ga Tech). The most dominant of any coach in your history against them.

Richt has consistently failed to take the next step, and I can understand why UGA fans are upset about that, but the guy is averaging almost 10 wins/yr over 11 seasons and will win another 10 this year. I think firing him is a very risky proposition.

Can I ask why you think this? Coming into the year your defense was supposed to be the strength of your team. Even with the suspensions and injuries the talent level on that side of the ball is insane. But as you have returned to full strength the defense has regressed.

As a non-Georgia fan, I can't argue against anything you have stated. I would want a change too. At some point you have to realize the current coach just simply doesn't have what it takes to get it done and underachieves basically every year

WG, knowing each other as we do, I must say that while I didnt read all of that just because I have an insane headache, but I feel like I pretty much know what's inside of it, I am proud of you.

I have called you out on numerous occasions for your undying love and trust of Mark Richt and it's good to see that you can finally see the light of day. This is a step in the right direction for you WG and I am glad I was able to see and take part in it.

That's the exact problem, we've been in this damned if you do, damned if you don't position with Richt for a long, long time. He has an overall good record to fall back on, but he has shown the complete inability to bring any further success.

Not an easy choice because Richt is a coach with class, but at some point the question is not so much:

Is the guy better than anything we had before?

But rather: Can this guy take us where we want to go?
