I am finally ready for a change at the top at UGA

I posted this on our board but haven't been on the SECR much since thursday or so. There are many reasons our program is down (assistant coaching hires/non hires, questionable OL recruiting, etc) but I won't touch on those here. I've been driving the Richt bandwagon for 12 years now, and after Saturday I sadly had to take the keys out of the ignition. It's time to go, regardless of what happens the rest of the year. Games like Saturday aren't an aberration anymore, they're a trend. We're #5 in the country playing against #6 at night, and we came out with NO emotion, no energy, no life. That falls squarely and directly on Richt, and we've seen it time and time again.
This wasn't just a loss either, this was a game that set our program back years. That's not hyperbole either. It took 3 years to really recover from the perception that followed us after bama 08 (preliminary STFU gumps, this is much less about your team and much more about our own incompetence). And this game was twice as bad as that one. There is literally no excuse to look and play like we did. And then to say "well we just got whipped. We lost to a better team" and all that shite, that is on Richt and nobody else. We are by God GEORGIA, and we are now something like 0 for the last 16 against teams that finished the year ranked. That is sickening, disgusting, and I just can't even fathom how something like that at a program like ours happens. It is 100% on leadership and coaching. Beating up on teams we're clearly better than is fine, but when we face a team similar to ours (one that finishes ranked) that has quality talent and coaching we shite the bed again and again. For the last 16 times. Inexcusable.
It's been happening for years and I sadly realized that we will never, EVER win a title with Richt. Teams adopt the personality of their leader, and our leader is soft and for whatever reason can't seem to inspire and motivate when it is needed most. You could see it in pregame warmups as we just meandered our way across the field like it was some grueling chore. Next year won't get any better either as we replace every defensive starter and add clemson and likely bama/lsu to the schedule. It's gonna be a down year anyway, so we might as well cut ties after this year. Sadly, I doubt we will, but we should. What's that saying, "what should be done eventually, must be done immediately"? Richt isn't the answer, so why hang on longer than we have to? After the tech game we should start looking for better answers.
After the UCF bowl loss I was THIS close to wanting to be done, but I relented. I said I wanted to see 10 wins and/or the east in '11 or I want him gone..and lo and behold we did both. But we can't keep doing this same dance over and over again. I fully realize that we might have to bring in someone unproven or with a short track record, and we may struggle a good bit in the first year or so. But I'm more excited about change than I am with what I know for sure we already have. Good is the enemy of great, and all that jazz.
And one final thought. This weekend was yet another in a LONG line of weekends where EVERYTHING was set to really just make it one of the best damn UGA weekends ever. FSU and LSU both lost, setting us up to be 3rd in the country. LSU's loss meant we had the longest regular season win streak in the country (for about an hour). We could've taken a strong grip on the east. It was a chance to get over the hump and people to really take notice that UGA is for real. And, once again, all that went bye bye in a matter of hours due to lack of preparation, focus, and attitude. I'm done with it.

Stopped reading right there.
Need to calm down. Yeah, yall played a terrible game. One game doesn't define a team, a season does. Both UGA and LSU have time to pull things back around. Lets at least give it another game to decided if the season is a downer.

Yes it does. Look I've been watching this team my entire life, I know what's going on. Look at 2007, we went on a tear and finished #2 in the country, but that still doesn't excuse the WTF loss to a far inferior SC team (at home) and an absolute arse beating to an inferior UT team. The season ended great, but those games still count.
Our schedule this year has 2 hard teams on it..2. In this one, we were both ranked in the top 6 with the east presumably at stake on ESPN at night with a starter injured for everybody to get pumped and rally around (as if we needed motivation anyway). Not only did our playcalling suck arse (which it typically does with bobo..again that's on richt) but there was ZERO life! My God I can handle taking a whipping to a better team but at least make them get up hurting in the morning! We had zero passion, zero fire, no life, no hustle, no motivation, nothing! We were going through the motions, and not a damn coach or player on the sideline did anything to change it!
Like I said, if this was the FIRST time it happened, I could maybe look the other way and say we'll get em next time. But this has happened again and again and again and again and again. It's not going away and it's not changing, and it falls squarely on the shoulders of the head coach. Enough is enough.

but they havent lost one game.
USC 2012
MSU 2012
LSU 2011
BSU 2011
losing record in 2010
OSU 2009
Bama 2008
All those game were against great teams but UGA cant win one of them...one.
They beat the 4 cupcakes every year, GT, Vandy, UK, and AU. That is 8 wins against poor opponents.
He cant beat good teams.

Richt is a good guy and, overall, a good Coach. UGA has performed well under his stewardship; albeit there have been a few down years.
The problem is Richt can't take the program to the next level. Saban has done that. Meyer did that. Miles has done that. Spurrier, arguably, has brought SCAR up to a new level.
Richt can't do that. If the end game is to win championships and bowl games, then he is not the right person for the job. If the end game is to make money and win a reasonable amount of games, then he does an acceptable job.
I think people are complacent with the amount of wins he puts up and are afraid of trying something new.

WG is the biggest Richt supporter in SECR. if he says it's time for a change, then it must be time.

Well I am not going to argue with you wanting to give Richt to boot. Personally, I want him to stay at UGA. But it is because games like saturday that I want him to.
But the season isn't over. USC still has yet to play LSU or Florida. If LSU and Florida can beat them both, then all UGA has to do from there would beat Florida.
Its a long shot, but so was LSU making it to the natty in 2007.

Agreed now with South Carolina passing us, it's all too obvious that there needs to be a major change.
Bobo needs to be fired as soon as possible.
Richt needs to be fired or demoted to OC, say what you what you want about Richt, but he's had some damn fine QBs over the years.
Grantham should stay I have no real problem with him
Who should take over the HC job though?
Chris Peterson
Gary Patterson
Chip Kelly (High doubtful though)
Jon Gruden (Now I'm souding like an Arky fan)
Paul Rhoads
