Butch. He is a top notch recruiter. Even if you had to let him go later, you would have talent.

Two years from now, maybe McElwain then, but I am curious to see how he does at Florida.

You can't undermine what McElwain did at Colorado State.

I wasn't even addressing McElwain. It was our particular circumstances I was talking about.

Horrible comparison. You're saying TN is on the same level as a CSU with talent. You guys really do have TNPTSD

Well, you can't have it both ways. People love to bring up his loss against Dooley. We all know Cincy didn't have SEC level talent

Tough choice , McElwain hasn't hand any time in the conference to show what he can do. McElwain seems more of a x and o type coach like Dan Mullen and Butch seems like more of a recruiter like Hugh Freeze. I would take McElwain by a hair because he turned CSU around and Butch has yet to build a program up , I believe Butch has always followed Kelly till now and he has recruited great but yet to have results on the field.

I think the better comparison would have been Butch and Beliema. They came into the SEC at the same time.

Common opponents don't really matter...I'm sure that McElwain built a much better program in his 3 years at Colorado State than Jones has in his 2 years at UT.

So you're comparing what a coach was able to do at Tennessee with SEC talent to a coach at ColoSt, a program no one has heard of before?

Reread this, hopefully you'll figure out where you went wrong.
