This is a HUGE game for Dooley.

While I agree it's not an absolute must win, it's in the neighborhood.

Lose this game, and 6-6 is staring us in the face and another Music City Bowl.

Win this game, and who knows?

We cannot beat Bama nor LSU, doubtful against Arky, and SC will depend on Spurrier still being stubborn and trying to make Tardcia throw the ball over and over.

KY and Vandy are W's.

Lose this one and some of our "finest" UT fans will get all liquored up, smash their cousins for some vengeance sex, and get on the UT boards and scream at the top of their lungs "Far Dirk Dooley!!!11!!1!."

Recruiting is going pretty well again, considering the state of our program. Win this game, on prime time tv, and it can only help.

My fear is it will come down to special teams. Devrin Young was electric returning kicks, but he fumbled, and that's his Achilles heel. Palardy sucks camel cock, so no hope of a clutch FG for a W. We still can't run our way out of a wet paper bag.

However, I saw what I was SCREAMING for against UF on Saturday, and that was screen passes. Short passes can somewhat mimic running the ball. Maybe Chaney figured that out 2 weeks too late.

Total Homer pick:

Vols 27
UGA 21

I don't think UT can win the East this year

UT plays Arky, Bama, LSU

UGA plays Miss St, Ole Miss, Aub

wow.

A loss would likely mean another 6-6 season and 2-6 in the SEC.

I dont understand why people say this. Watching USCe this past weekend I saw nothing to suggest we cant beat them in Knoxville, and I wouldnt be surprised to see us pull off an upset @ Arky. LSU & Bama will likely be losses of course, but then again, we were f#$king 13 men on the field from beating LSU last year.

With the offense we have and the defense playing better than expected, I think we can win a game we aren't suppose to. But like I mentioned before, I won't call for the win until we can prove we can do it.

Agreed, but I think we'll be pretty beat up after Bama/LSU. Just think it's a bad time to deal with Lattimore. Of course, it's hard to beat anyone with bad QB play, so if Garcia doesn't figure things out it's certainly winnable.

We'll score some on Arkansas, but I think they'll score more.

The 2009 game was the first time in 39 meetings that neither Tennessee nor Georgia was ranked. Next Saturday's game will be the third straight time that neither is ranked.

bad times

but the thing is, despite that fact this may be the first UT/UGA game with any actually hype going into it. i expect neyland to be pretty pumped up when i go saturday. both fan bases are excited and there is somehow some hope the winner of this game can pull itself out of its bed shitting ways

It's big for us, but we are not winning the East no matter what happens Saturday. But time for Dooley to show he can beat a team with comparable talent.

It will take tenn 5-7 more years to get back to the top, if then. right now they are not even relevant.

and for us it is time to see if richt can finally get this team firing on all cylinders. i think the general consensus is as soon as we put it all together this team will be damn good. so in a way it is similar, UT fans are waiting to see if Dooley will ever get the Vols back to prominence and we get to see if Richt is ever going to win a big game ever again.

This season for UGA is a lot like Tennessee's 07 season imo.

No. We seem to be getting through the Dubose, Franchione, Shula stage faster than Bama did.

eh, idk. our loss to boise was pure coaching and USCe we gifted them a win. we haven't really been routed. i think we are better than that team.

but we could get fricked by keeping richt another year.

That team was pretty talented. Chavis' worst coaching job imo. He had Jerod Mayo anchoring his linebacking corps and Eric Berry anchoring the secondary. I don't see any players close to that caliber on UGA's roster.

Not to mention Dan Williams was on the DL, I believe he had worked into the rotation in 2007.

Thats three first round draft picks in each level of the defense. Pretty impressive, too bad we couldn't do better... Maybe stop Angie from throwing 2 late INTs

And we also had Arian Foster, Montario Hardesty, Denarius Moore, and Luke Stocker on offense.
