I expect Arkansas and LSU to accept A&M rather quickly, honestly.

There will be something awkward about A&M playing UGA or South Carolina.

I'm not sure if Mizzou will ever feel "SEC". If anybody would feel a kinship with them, it should be us. But there's a different culture up there. Most of Arkansas identifies with Texas, Memphis and Mississippi. I live 30 miles from Missouri, and apart from the twice a year I buy beer across the state line on a Sunday, I rarely think about going north.

By contrast, I probably visit Texas 8 times a year.

Funny... I was just thinking this weekend that Arkansas and South Carolina still feel like recent bolt-on additions that don't quite fit in. That's not a dig, just a personal reflection.

You can start by dropping the s on ya'll. jk

Personally, I can't wait to rekindle our rivalry. I remember growing up in the 80s and listening to my grandfather telling Aggie jokes that I should not have been listening to at that age.

Looking forward to it!

I'm interested to see what the Arkansas game in a few weeks feels like compared to last week, since we've played them the last few years OOC. I think it will have more of a conference game feel as an A&M fan, especially since it's in CS instead of Dallas this year.

Who knows, it really depends on who you ask. Some folks feel like A&M was always an SEC team trapped in the Big 12. Some will never feel like it is a fit no matter what we do. Most won't feel like we are really members until we win an SEC Title, nothing helps more than winning on the football field. I can definitely say that I never felt like the Big 12 was a natural fit though the SWC did, especially before it went to crap after the SMU Death Penalty.

Personally I am just proud to be a Texas Aggie and am happy to be in the SEC. Though acceptance is nice I really don't give a damn, we are who we are and folks can either take it or leave it. I do feel we pull our weight and bring a lot with us but I have no doubt some will never feel that way. I also think A&M has an SEC atmosphere to it but I am sure some will never agree to that as well. We are a strange cultish group that deep down doesn't want to be like anyone else so acceptance is always going to be limited.

This is pretty much a perfect descriptor of Missouri. North says we're south, south says we're north...nobody loves us

Not too long, imo. At least for me. I don't know, maybe another year.

We'll get used to them on the schedule within five years, but it won't feel traditional for like 12-15, when the younger generation grows up watching the SEC only ever knowing it with those teams in it.

About the time it takes for me to not click on every post by a guy with "Tiger" in his handle thinking it's a Mizzou post.

You may personally identify more with TX. But you have got to be kidding me to think Arkansas and Missouri do not have extremely similar cultures. The Ozarks is littered with Arkansas people. That region takes up the biggest chunk of our state. Springfield MO is like 20% Arkansas fans I've been told. You're speaking out of your arse on this one.

Not until they finish at least second in their division. So for Mizzu.. never. Texas A&M has a chance to make noise in a few years. But it could be 5-7 years.

LSU will. I don't think Hog/A&M conference hate ever stopped.

Very true. There's so many Razorback Alums and Fans in this state that they have their own Specialty plates in Missouri for the Razorbacks.
