The idea was tossed around to allow beer sales in Troy. Last I heard it was a no-go. I think the hang-up was selling Draft beer. They really don't want a bunch of plastic bottles and aluminum cans to clean up. Or to be thrown. The city still hasn't taken its head out of its arse and voted in selling draft beer. I think if that hurdle can be jumped, you'll see it soon.

Seems like a no brainer for schools like Troy that need every source of revenue they can get.

I wouldn't say I'm a genius. But I'd bet my salary that I'm a helluva lot smarter than you.

No, you're not getting under my skin. Sorry to disappoint you. I am simply bored at work, and making fun of you is an excellent way for me to pass the time.

So they're just stalling on voting in the draft beer sales?

True. If they could do a 6-6 Home/Road schedule and sell beer, it would make up for one of the bodybag games each year, and entice more people to buy season tix. The first few years after moving up to FBS were brutal. One year there were only 4 home games, all conference games. At least we've been at 5 the past few years, and there will finally be 6 next year with Mississippi State and Navy playing there, in addition to the 4 conference games.

No. And after going back and reading the discussion over on the Troy boards, apparently the rumor was started when the University's big food/drink vendor applied for license to sell alcohol. I think draft beer was discussed later.

Wait. No draft beer can be sold anywhere in the city?

Even as a non-beer drinker, I find this appalling.

It still is very much a suitcase college. Place is a ghost town on the weekends. The wife and I usually rode to Montgomery, or home to Dothan, almost every weekend. Well, the ones in the colder months. We hightailed it to Destin every weekend from April to October.

I don't see it happening any time soon. SEC doesn't need the revenue plus the teabagging incedent didn't help
