quote:Sure they do. Doesn't mean they will lose as long as they follow the law. There is some liability, but nothing that isn't insurable and nothing that isn't done other places all the time.
and you should know that sometimes those establishments get sued for liability reasons.

Its sloped so you dont have to sit in someone's truck, but it's better. People also build stands. If your there by first pitch for a non-rivalry game there is plenty of room.

No problem. Its a lot of fun. You can get a grill going, and toss a ball around. Great way to start a weekend.

Won't be the kids buying it anyway for the most part they are 18-almost 21. I worked beer sales at titans games and they are very strict on beer sales. Can't buy more than two at a time and are strict on ids. If you buy more than two you have to have a person with you that also has a 21 and older id to even help you carry it. Plus they stop sales mid 3rd quarter.

Stocked skyboxes haven't caused mass hysteria...I'm sure it will happen eventually.

I honestly think selling beer at the games would result in people being less drunk in the game. The students are getting shite housed before the game because they know they won't be able to get anything there.
The only problem I think it would cause is less people being in the stands because they are waiting in line for beer.

Obviously. What I am pointing out is that booze, not concealed by a hidden flask, is openly consumed in the stadium. It won't be a "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!111!" type thing.
Bottom line is money. The right people are approached with an opportunity to make money...bam...beer sales.

Valid point and I'm ashamed I didn't think of that.
Although, the stocked skyboxes are a different clientele than the rest of the stadium

When the extra revenue can no longer be ignored, all the reasons to not sell will disappear.
UNLV had full bars(liquor/beer) at the games.

quote:It is an SEC rule - which is why you don't see alcohol sold at the SECCG in the Dome or the SEC basketball or baseball tourneys. The bowl games sell it because they are not controlled by the SEC, only have an SEC participant.
I know it's not an SEC rule because they sell beer at games SEC teams play in like bowl games.
I honestly don't see alcohol sales at SEC venues for a long time, unless the federal government votes to lower the minimum drinking age back down to 18 and maybe even then you wouldn't see it.
I am thinking that they are afraid that sales in the stadiums would lead to a lot more cases of underage drinking, but also (at least at Auburn) a lot of your concession stands are staffed by local high schools and other groups which get a % of sales as a fundraiser for the group. If you have high school kids working a concession stand, they can't sell alcohol because you have to be of legal age (and take a class) before you can handle/serve it.
