You know, I've been wondering the same thing.

We should have canned him in 2004 and grabbed Lea miles before LSU or more recently so we could have gotten butch jones or will muschamp or gene chizik or Houston nutt or tommy tuberville or Derek Dooley.

Never mind the fact that the only really successful hires since richt has been around were urban Meyer and Nick saban. Richt has still out produced spurrier and bobby petrino. Les miles has out produced richt by one eight year old national title but you'd never know it given the animosity LSU fans seem to have for the guy.

UGA is clearly on the decline lately, what with recruiting at a high level and hiring actual good coaches and building an IPF. We should just cut our losses and see if we can lure bert away from Arkansas

That the supposed domination over Auburn that mutts constantly brag about largely came during a 4 year period that ended 6 years ago. He was 2-3 before this period and he will be 3-3 after it once he loses to Auburn this year

Let's say hypothetically you hired petrino instead of us and also hypothetically let's say he didn't wreck a motorcycle with an intern on the back you probably would have had a natty by now. There is atleast one real good reason BP isn't in georgia. #ATLANTAFALCONS #GOODBYENOTE

9-10 wins is not mediocre. You really shouldn't use words that are above your level of understandIng.

Since richt arrived, Uga has won 7 less games than LSU, which isn't many.

"After 2010" was the only time in which firing richt would have been justifiable, but with a new qb and dc, it didn't happen.

We also need to take into account richts ownership of ut, au and ga tech.

That's not funny bro. Blatant trolls are ruining what should be a great place to discuss football with fans of opposing teams in the SEC. Don't encourage it slick.

Wartigerplainsmen can slice it up any way that the want. Richt is a thorn in their side.

That ownership of those teams has come at some of the lowest point in their programs history. The best indicator of UGAs program has to be the UF Series, MR has had a problem beating some average UF Teams.

Three programs in the SEC have fired coaches who have won NCs, so the excuse of trying to justify not firing Richt doesn't hold water in the SEC.

I like how you want to compare Richt to coaches at lesser schools. The 3 programs that are as big as UGA have all had better results then UGA in Richt time at UGA and it's not even close. UF had 2 horrible hires and still ended up with much better results.

The reason Richt is still at UGA is because of the mind set of most of the fans like your self. You are ok with being second rate because you don't want to take a chance on going backwards. UGA has everything to be one of the elite schools in the SEC except coaching , and it's been proven over Richts time at UGA. Was there ever a 4-5 year time frame under Richt where UGA could be considered the best program in the SEC?

Honest question for anyone who doesn't think Richt should get fired. Do you think UGA is a second rate program in the SEC , like UGA's results in Richts time at UGA. Some could argue that even Auburn has been better and UGA would be the 5 best program . That's slightly above average.

Vol fans don't troll often... but when they do, they should get in this thread.

You can't ignore what he has done vs 3 rivals and focus on what he has done vs 1. That's just a ridiculous idea.

Who are those 3 mnc coaches that were fired?

Look at the record each year of the teams he defeated.

The three coaches were Stallings, Fulmer and Chizik.

Donna and Goff had a 61% win percentage. Horrible record against our rivals. And horrible bowl record.
We have 2 national championships in the history of the program.

Richt is positioning himself to be our best coach in the history of the program (not there yet, but he is closer to that statement than further from it).

2002-2005 was a solid 4 years.

Are you really saying Uga should have fired richt after a 10-3 season that finished #9 in the nation? That's not reasonable.

Because he was passed over for the Mizzou job in favor of Pinkel a couple months earlier. If that wasn't the case he would probably still be the head coach at MU. He is a good coach.
