I agree.

Of course, this won't matter to you because all you want to do is stir up shite.

Nope. You are wrong.

Facts don't matter to peoplelike you

All I said was that your governor said LSU football might go away. Here is a direct quote:

"That means you can say farewell to college football next fall," Edwards said in the address.

You tell me. Is what I said a fact, or not?

Hey, if I was a UGA fan I would probably feel the same way considering that UGA has become the poster child for "WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR".

Maybe. But so has LSU since 2007. It's not like LSU has been winning National Championships every year.

Sounds like you are completely fine with this as it seems like you're supporting JBE in this matter.

TOPS and shutting down schools should be the very last thing that should be shutdown. PERIOD

How exactly does setting the record straight and endorsing the truth equate to the endorsement of that truth? I'm an independent thinker that has seen what party politics results in and its nothing usefull for us. I have no party allegiance and I disagree with JBE's proposal to only cut $160million from the budget while raising revenue to make up the remainding $740 million. The solution should be closer to half cuts half revenue.

Once again, there is zero chance of Universities shutting down. This financial situation has been on going in Louisiana for a couple of years because of political disagreements on the liberal protected crap in the budget.
So YOUR governor says one thing and YOU, a voter (remember that the majority of voters are idiots) say something else...ok then.

Dude, it's clear to anyone who read your first responses that you were incapable of differentiating the university shutting down from only the football program shutting down.

Mind showing me where i said only the football team would be shutting down? I don't recal saying or insinuating that. I said your governor said the football team would shut down. I even have provided you with direct quotes of him saying exactly that....yet here you are still arguing that he did not say that.

Now you're getting it.

He never threatened to "shut down" the football program, like you tried to claim.

I've already done it several times, but here you go:

"Did he or did he not say LSU football might have to be shut down? "

From page 1 of this very thread.

you sure are contributing enough to a "debate" of which you admit has no chance of happening. so again i ask, if you know, and everyone knows, this will never happen, why do people insist on discussing this topic ad nauseam on here? honestly, all of these threads belong on the political board because that's exactly what this entire thing is. this is just like when the democrats shut the US government down to get they want. it political posturing, and it's ridiculous

Ok. We will take SEC championships, then. It's been 5 years that LSU has been saying "wait till next year".

Now...before you all get your panties tied up in knots...it was YOUR poster that said UGA is the poster child for "Wait until next year." I am merely pointing out that LSU has said the same thing the past 5 years.

And here is his direct quote you keep saying does not exist:

Isn't that what this board is here for? Exchanging ideas and debate? I THOUGHT that was why it was here. if I am wrong, then I apologize.

I've never once said it doesn't exist you fricking dolt. I said he didn't threaten to shut down the football program, but rather the university. Which is exactly what he did.

So, for the last time. The answer to your question of whether he threatened to shut down the football program is "no".

Does seem weird that the one entity that makes money for a cash strapped University is the one being threatened to be shut down. And if they are privately funded, why would the governor even think about shutting it down? I'm not dismissing the LSU fan explanations. They certainly know more about the inner workings than I do, but it just seems unusual.

Its b/c everyone's understanding even of the govs threat is incorrect. He never even said he'd shut down football. What he said was essentially, if there's no payroll for staff, the universities would have to shut down, in which case the students and student athletes would become ineligible and thus by extensions stopping football state wise. He never even mentioned LSU at that, he just said football in Louisiana. But that didn't stop every sports media from turning that into him threating to shut down LSU Football... LOL
