Most media are also giant douchebags with a greatly over inflated opinion of themselves, so it is not surprising they would feel at home at Ole Miss

So when they are "blown away" does it skew their opinion so much that they actually rank them above schools around the entire country in certain aspects? Like they just can't get over how shocked they were that OM just sticks in their mind?

Does it bother you that most people view OM as a fun getaway and party school? It seems like that is OM's main selling point

Pretty much. Kind of like how a lot of your fans are convinced your school/student body is wealthy, when by comparison to other schools, you really aren't.
I can't explain the groupthink other than it is very, very, very important to Ole Miss people for whatever reason.

If Oxford is so awesome why does nobody move there? Why do out of state graduates go back home and only return for game weekends?

I'm from a culture less Celtic a little more Germanic, where being showy with or overly concerned with displays of wealth is the mark of trash.
I'm aware of the whole Delta boy "need to place" people for fear we're mistaken for sharecropper stock, etc. I understand that E. Ark/ Mississippi culture. I just don't really dig it.
