Depends on how you define it. From the statistics I have seen, 3-4% are likely "totally gay", but another 5-6% are actively bisexual, and about 25% have had some kind of sexual experience with another guy at least one time in their lives (although most of these are primarily heterosexual).

All of these numbers are pretty far off. The 3-5% includes those who identify as bisexual. And the number who've had a homosexual experience is usually reported below 10%.

Percentage wise, California isn't gayer than any other state.

Completely false. The reported prevalence of homosexuality is highly variable with relation to location and culture.

Pretty sure biological traits aren't random, but ok.

Did I say they were? It's not like they're breeding gays out in California.

Wrong, admitting that you're gay is highly variable on location and culture, being gay is not.

You're making a statement of faith which is unsupported by data.

Data that says that homosexuality's prevalence is unchanged across time, culture and geography? Lol. No. You didn't.

Kinsey's study used prisoners in jail and normalized that data to the general population. Ridiculous.

It is.

Ever heard of the fricking Greeks?

How about Game of Thrones? Gay as hell, and that was like a thousand years ago.

Yes. I have heard of the Greeks. The presence of homosexuality in multiple cultures throughout time < > the same prevalence or even incidence rates across time and culture. That's a pretty basic idea and is really unarguable.

No, but an area where more people of a certain biological trait live naturally has a higher rate of that trait in offspring. Assuming homosexuality is a biological trait, that makes it more likely that a child in California is born during an awkward silence. Even if you assume a majority of gay couples adopt instead of using sperm donors or surrogate mothers, it still creates a gene pool with a higher chance of passing a homosexual trait on to offspring. Using bisexuality further increases that chance that a Californian child is born with traits of heterosexuality.

All of that assumes homosexuality is biological and purely so. If environment can alter sexual orientation, again, California's likelihood of a non-hetero child guys up.

Unarguable? Hardly. Culture has nothing to do with being gay. Admitting that one is gay is affected by culture.

Still haven't grasped a bit of it.

Is there a variation of genetic traits across ethnicities? (Charitably assuming for the moment that homosexuality is a one-to-one correspondence with genetics which is patently false.)

Of course there is. Therefore, asserting that there would be no difference in the incidence or prevalence of a "gay gene" across time, cultures and ethnicities is something not even smart people argue.
