Him and Christian Kirk I believe. Kirk being everything he was advertised as and RSJ's progression have been two pretty consistent off season stories across all the recruiting services. Ricky played QB in high school and then was injured in Game 1 and got a medical redshirt. He's finally learning the position.

A&M needs more size and depth at corner, we need our young linebackers to stat healthy and grow up fast and we need someone to step up and win the LG spot. Im worried about corner.

Offensive scheme will depend largely on whether Kyler Murray takes the starting job from Allen. If he does expect lots of designed QB runs.

WRs should be the best in the SEC and are our biggest strength

D-Line is the strength of the defense and will hopefully hide some of the weakness at corner. Its the one area on defense we have been stacking 4-5 stars during Sumlin's tenure. We might end up with the best pair of rush ends in the SEC if Daeshon Hall can finally stay healthy.

TE is thin, Jordan Davis has huge upside but as a true freshman we probably wont incorporate him too much this year. Most likely we will use Caden Smith and Brandon Alexander as H back blockers this year.

RB is fine if Christianson's scheme takes, our top two guys are both big power backs. It would be nice if Kendall Bussey can get healthy and give us a speed threat out of the backfield. Expect a few carries from Noil and/or Christian Kirk on jet sweeps and such.

Kicker could be shitty, Taylor Bertolet's ineptitude as a freshman is what cost us a West title in 2012 and he is back to FG duty with Lambo's departure. Lacamara was a highly regarded recruit at kicker but has struggled so far.

Punter is strong with senior Drew Kaser being a potential first team all-conference player.

As of right now:

Defense is good, real good. Both the DL and Secondary. DL is elite Secondary has a chance to be with the talent and experience we have. Only question is MLB.

Offense - OL is still very questionable and may wreck our season if it isn't at least a little bit better, especially if Dobbs gets hurt. WRs have the potential to be as good as or better than anyone in the nation, especially if the OL is improved even a teeny bit. RBs - amazing tandem but gets a bit scary behind them. TEs - good tandem but also gets scary behind them.

Overall I think our defense can keep us in a lot of games even if the OL is still the same. If the OL is a bit better then we'll have a lot better season.

How likely is this do you think? If he doesn't win the job at the start of the season will he get some regular season reps (outside of garbage time) ?

There is a good chance two true freshman start for SEC west teams. Scary.

Yup. Blake may get the go for the Tide this year. Not too happy with it, but if the coaches thinks he's the best, he's got my trust.

Sumlin has said unequivocally that Murray will play, and regardless of whether he wins the job he will have designed packages centered around his very good running ability.

I'd say it's probably 70/30 in favor of Allen right now. Murray has outplayed him according to reports so far but that is largely due to him making plays while scrambling, and given that the offense isnt in synch this early in camp it stands to reason that a mobile QB who can avoid O-line mistakes will look better. Allen is still the better pocket passer as of now.

Damn, Saban starting a TF seems crazy. Even Jamarcus had to split PT with Marcus Randle. Coker must really suck

It's weird to come to terms with it. Our QBs have looked awful this fall so far. It's still early and Sims looked awful last year too, but I have serious doubts about how the O will perform this year.

Bama could hand the ball off every play and still probably win 9 games.

LSU Offense:

QBs have improved to average levels. Running back corps is the best in the country. All types of players with power and speed. FBs and TEs may be the most talented we've had at LSU. WRs are maturing under Tony Ball and have created chemistry with Brandon Harris.

Tiger Bandits: Fast, fast, fast. DTs are 300lbers with tons of strength and speed. DEs are strong and fast. LB corps is concerning due to depth but the starting trio of Beckwith, Jones, and Louis are all 4.6 guys with lots of strength and experience. Defensive backfield is loaded with experience and potential.

Wild Tigers: Kicker spot is still open with heavy competition. Punter is owned by Jamie Kheen and his backup is the fellow Aussie, Josh Growden. The kickoff and punt suicide squads will be extremely talented.

Kevin Steele and Ed Orgeron have brought some energy to the team. Steele will be calling plays from the booth and Orgeron will relay them on the ground. Orgeron has been working our DL hard and Steele has been focusing the defense on creating turnovers and pressuring the QB.

Our team is still fairly unknown but there is energy and focus on it that we haven't seen in a very long time. Miles has been keeping the media away from the team and there are new schemes and looks being added behind closed doors.

Murray must be damn good because I was really impressed by Allen as a TF last year.

Chavis quote on Brandon Williams...

there aren't many players around that are more talented than him.

I hate to burst your bubble but B. Williams is still a RB being moved to CB. Chavis has said a lot in the past that the two major factors in CB play are speed and physicality which Williams probably has. It doesn't necessarily mean he has the skills or technique to be a successful cornerback. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't expect much out of him.

Here is an honest, no sunshine pumping, take on what A&M will field in the areas of most concern.

Defense: We have been saying we will be improved, but the truth is that we say that due to the fact that we really couldn't be any worse than the shite show of a defense we had on the field last year. LB is thin and our CB's give me heartburn. We are stacked everywhere else, but that doesn't mean shite. The proof is in the pudding and we should be waiting to see what happens before crowning ourselves as an all world defense.

Running game: I have no idea. I think Carson and White are good enough to be very effective, but I have no idea what to expect from Christianson. No one else does either and if some Aggies tell you we are about to have a dominant run game, they are living in a fantasy world. We just don't know. We only hope. OL needs to improve from last year, otherwise SEC DL and DE will be eating our lunch all day and we will be thankful to be so deep at QB.

Too many questions marks going into the first game to know that we will be on the top end of the conference, but I don't think we will be on the bottom even with those question marks. All the changes I mentioned are a step in the right direction in an effort to get improvement and I believe they will pay off, but how soon that happens is anyones guess.
