I hope you aren't actually using this as an argument. If you are, you should just back away

We should become a Theocracy like most the middle eastern countries. That seems to be working well for them.

I know. I just don't like mixing religion and sports.

If this is a bad thing for Auburn why get all puckered about it. I would promote it so Auburn gets fricked even more.

He never visited, and didn't have an offer following up to the speculation that he might visit Auburn. Who reported that he received an offer?

Just because we have freedom of religion doesnt mean that I have to bow to all other religions and dont even start with the seperation of church and state to show your ignorance. Nonetheless, this is a sports board so for once in my life, I completely agree with something the Barn is doing.

Really?

You agree with the Barn even in light of the fact that AU is controlled and administered at the highest levels by one of the most crooked men in the state - all because he has donated millions of dollars? And some of AU's most influential men on campus are being indicted for a host of illegal activities? Yet these men are embraced at AU because of their monetary donations to AU.

Do I need to mention the name Newton - Bishop Newton?

It's looks like total hypocracy, IMO.

According to Abdullah:

quote:

Abdullah said much like Nebraska, a firm offer is only on the table with a visit, and he appreciates Auburn being honest, as well as Nebraska.

He never visited, thus never had an offer.

HOWEVER... he did say this:

quote:

"They want to bring in another running back and they said I could do it. They have come in kind of late, that hurts their chances. I am already committed, but God has a plan for everybody."

Sure there is if you are a Christian - until "God" becomes a recruiting technique. Then it becomes SICKENING.

Is Abdullah a Muslim?

Muslims refer to Allah as God, just like Christians.

First off, Ameer is muslim LINK Not that it matters.

Secondly, Ameer had an early offer to play cornerback because the coaches liked his athleticism. Late in the process he became a back up plan at RB, but never received an offer for it. I don't feel like looking for it but Al.com reported it a few months ago.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that after talking to the Auburn coaches, he brings up the fact that "God has a plan for everyone". Further suggesting that Auburn is using the idea of God to influence recruits.

So what do you guys propose "The Auburn God Rule"... Should we have a rule that prayer and God should not be allowed?

Churches and religion are not perfect. We are all sinners, some use religion for financial gain. Should we outlaw religion?
--------------
But you can't hold a whole university responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole NCAA system? And if the whole NCAA system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, BAMMER - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America............. Gentlemen!

Just as long as you are acknowledging that they are sick and twisted for using religion to influence recruits.

Cool I concede God is a recruiting technique for Auburn. Now what?

I am conceding because I am giving you credit you have been through the recruiting process with Auburn and have had visits with the coaches.
I also assume you have assessed their motives through all the time you have visited with them and have come to the conclusion their talk of family and god is void of sincerity, and good intentions.

I am positive you are not coming to your conclusion it is a gimmick, technique, or anything of similar nature because they are the rival to your school and have recruited well under the current coaching staff. Also, that they use the term family, god, prayer, blessed in many interviews.
