Crow Pie is tolerable because he has his moments, as few as they might be. VC reminds me of stepping in dog shite and not being able to ever get that smell off of your shoes.

All anyone needs to know about VC can be read in the last two posts on the first page:
In essence: supreme confidence based on results from last year. They beat us badly in their house, so of course they can do it again in our house this year. They didn't do it in 2010, but that must have been a fluke.
next post:
In essence: we should NOT be confident that we will beat USC even though we destroyed them last year and the year before last. Playing on the road is MUCH harder than at home.
Either VC hates Arkansas and so no matter what we are always a glass half empty and every team that plays us gets the benefit of the glass being half full or he is psychotic and can't see the logical fallacy in his own argument.

Bottom Line: LSU ran all over you last year and will do so again this year, with at least 250 yards. You don't go from terrible, to stopping run oriented teams with great OL's like lsu and bama. Last year all we heard was the great offense. LSU and Bama both shut them down and kept them off the field plenty. It will be no different this year. I love the little comment at the end about LSU being toast IF...etc....LSU destroyed arky last year, and will be better this year. You really don't get that.

You start think that way and you are in for trouble. SC will be a very formidable game for you, and they will likely be favored to beat you.

An lsu poster asks a fair question about the Hogs upcoming season and VC has chimed in damn near every other post on the first page shooting down Hog fans opinion.
VC was being a douche FWIW. Didn't want the thread to go that way. I'm tired of the ego bull crap that seems to happen in these threads. I have to look in the mirror because I have done it myself. Just trying to keep it real for once.

Great, I guess ROAD HOGG is our VC now.

Stonehog, VC is just out of it. I respect the LSU Program and their fans, but just will not accept the Trash that we have been nothing more than their bitch. We have won 3 of the last 5 from them. This year's game will be a good one. KD will help us, an improved OL will help too, Taver Johnson and Paul Haynes will make our defense better vs the Run. We have a very solid team with the Home Field. It will not be a Blow Out either way.
Now go and get VC's viewpoint.

The argument is more like this:
LSU was significantly better than ARkansas this past year, and the LSU team will be just as good or better than last year's team. Thus, I don't know how you think the venue will matter that much, unless you honestly think you are going to drastically improve on defense from last year. The 2010 LSU team was not nearly as good as the 2011 and 2012 LSU teams. Arkansas was very similar to LSU in 2010...not so in 2011, or 2012.
As for South Carolina, you have won a few games, but you aren't on a different level than they are, and if Latimore is back, you will be an underdog on the road. One of your posters said they weren't worried about SC...thus I responded that SC is a formidable opponent.
There is a reason LSU is 4-1 to win the NC, and ARky is 22-1. CAn Arky beat LSU, absolutely. Will they? Not very likely this year as it will be more of 2011.
Have a nice day.

You sound exactly like the Ole Miss fans from 2008 and 2009....exactly. "we won 2 in a row, etc."...without bothering to look at LSU had beaten them 8 of 10....same with Arky...you won a few games, as all teams do, but look at the overall trend..it does not favor you. Arkansas can beat LSU some years, no doubt. However, LSU completely outclassed Arkansas last year, and the team in no way resembled the team of 2010, and that is something you guys fail to realize. I realize, and I understand that arkansas fans want success very badly, and when you win a few games against someone like LSU, it really makes you think you are up there with them. The 2012 LSU team will be even better than the 2011 team that completely outclassed you. Yes, you will be at home, but unless LSU has a lot of turnovers, you simply don't have the talent and class to hang with them again. Maybe next year will be better, but honestly with you recent recruiting, Arkansas is fixing to really start going downward. Good luck.

I wouldn't give Wingo many carries. Let KD get Ingram-like carries, and let Johnson get Richardson-like carries.
See 2009 Bama.
I agree with this.

Just trying to keep it real for once.
Here is real:
0 SEC Championships
0 National Championships
0 BCS Bowl Wins
This is all the accomplishments of Arkansas as a member of the SEC. Although LSU has dominated the series, LSU has lost to arkansas a few times recently......both teams sucked in 2008.....both teams were pretty equal in 2010, and 2007 was an upset with a back that played great for arky. In 2011, arkansas was completely outclassed by LSU. In 2012, LSU will be every bit as good, and most likely a better overall team. Unless Arkansas improves dramatically (with a new coach), then I don't see how they beat LSU without multiple turnovers by LSU. Period. If that is ego, so be it. I call it reality. Three years from now things may have changed, but for this couple of year period, LSU and Bama are clearly the dominant teams in the conference.

VC really pisses me off because he is arrogant and I can't dispute his facts. Yes, we have 0 SEC Championships, 0 NC's, and 0 BCS Bowl Wins as a member of the SEC...I have just never let acutal accomplishments impact my opinion and belief in the hogs. We are an elite team.
fixed it for you

We get it...LSU is the best of all time, best in the universe, and nobody will never beat them for all of eternity. Got it.

clearly not...those titles are reserved for alabama. WE are just little ole LSU, and are very proud of what success we have had and as a fan I am truly humbled by that success. It will end some day, that I know, and I'm just enjoying the ride while it lasts. I really wouldn't have a problem with Arkansas, except that SOME of the fans talk shite like they are an elite SEC team, despite never accomplishing anything in football as a member of the SEC. Arky fans are really jealous of the success of LSU, and talk shite constantly about being the equal of LSU. It's a joke, and worthy of rebuttal.

Obviously you are not "truly humbled".
I think some Hog fans just get tired of hearing from LSU fans how terrible we are and we shouldn't even be on the field with SEC teams. Now, if LSU had an 18-2 record vs. Arkansas since we joined the SEC, nobody would say a word. The fact is the "series" between us and LSU has been competitive over the 20 years. I know we don't have an SEC Championship, or a National Championship since we've joined, but we are striving to get there, and LSU and Bama are our bench marks because of the sustained success they both have had.
Oh, and do you ever think some of the Hog fans says some of the things they do to get under your skin?? Cause it works.

you are...maybe not all, but the majority are...
why else the constant "we beat you"...etc....
"we are elite bs"........the constant alabama is on a different level than LSU.....etc.
Just because you can't beat alabama, and you have been fortunate to beat lsu 3 times in the last ten years or so...doesn't mean bama and LSU are on different levels....fact is that lsu has dominated bama almost as badly as arkansas since the turn of the century...before that, bama ruled lsu.
Arkansas would be okay if they would win a few worth things in college football...I believe it would calm your delusional fanbase down some. Of course, you guys talk incredible shite without ever winning anything...on the other hand, just imagine if you actually finally won something...it might be unbearable.

I truly am humbled. I went a LONG time with very little success as an LSU fan, and know it could be gone again rather soon.
You seem like a very realistic hog fan, and I have no problem with anyone aspiring to be great....and i'm not referring to you in my posts. However, on this site, most arkansas fans don't share your view...they are already on the level of lsu according to them...which is absurd. Also, I know several hog fans in person...they are much like the ones on SEC Rant. They truly believe they are the equal of LSU and it's not an act. Good luck going forward. For you sake, hopefully they can get someone in there good that can turn things around in recruiting. Despite what many say, it does take consistent excellent recruiting to become a perenial national championship contender.
