Not targeting. That isn't the crown of his helmet.
Nope, not at all....
ETA: I thought that Rueben could have easily been flagged as well.

Nice still... plus - he launched

When a man becomes a runner, he is not defenseless

Great photo. Top of the facemask right to the breastbone. That's how it's done. Not even close to targeting. I did feel so bad for Hurts though that I didn't even think to cheer for the Rebs play until Youngblood was inside the ten.

I'm not sure. Can you get an FBI ruling on this?

Congrats

No. But you are a special type of homer.

Gary thought one was a GREAT hit while the other one was targeting

Both very similar and probably should have been flagged with the new pussyfied rules. We have been flagged and player ejected for less.

Not a fan of the rule but, it has been written and refined. As a result it is Cleary defined., The hit on Hurts was a foul, the hit on Kelly was not

Stop it. Hurts hit was not. Prove me wrong.
The kid took an open blindside shot(OUR fault) and scraped himself off of the mat and fought to victory. I will take that lesson everyday, everyday

The hit on Kelly was forcible contact to the head. It's part of what constitutes targeting, but didn't meet all the requirements.
FIFY.

I'm not crying. The TD we had taken off the board was the only issue I had with officiating. That and the game was too damned long. The only thing I have to cry about is our ball security. Which has been poor

kelly lowered his head ... he didn't initiate the contact as foster did, so that absolves him ... regardless of anyone's opinion about the rule, it's here to stay if you want football around in 30 years ... it's a good rule but until a rb or wr is flagged for lowering their head into the defender's head, it's a stupid rule ... foster probably should've been called for not keeping his head up, same as the ole miss defender ... neither qb quit, so it's a moot pt ...
says a lot about their toughness ... most badasses on here would've gone home ...
