FSU was ranked above both Alabama and Texas by this same committee, even after the starting QB went down. ALL YEAR LONG.

Neither Alabama or Texas really have much of an argument to be honest. This is all UGA's fault for losing to Bama in the Championship game.

You absolutely have to dissect that game to discern the difference between an FSU team with Jordan Travis vs. without Jordan Travis. You have to dissect the last two games FSU played... and they were ugly. If you can't see the difference, then your bias is blinding you.

they were ugly, nobody can deny that. I'm not denying it. I've mentiond this before, but my whoel point on that specific argument is...where do we draw the line on "how important" a player is? Take Brock Bowers for instance. Top 10 draft pick. Best TE in america. In fact one could argue he's the greatest colelge TE of all time. He misseda few games in the middle of the season so what if we ended up losing one fo them? Woudl that loss essnetially be wiped away from our record as if it didn't count? Something tels me that answer would be NO. So if we dece Brock Boweres isn't important enough to alter our season based on waht's happened without him, but we HAVE determined that jordan travis is important enough...where is the line drawn? Who exactly is the arbiter of more important and less important? I personally do not think decsisions liek taht shoudl be left to people on a committee to decide. That's why I LOVED the committee for 9 years, because even though internet people btiched and complaind they did everythign objectively based solely on resume. Not eye test, not vegas odds, none of that....jsut who's resume was best. That's why it's so hard for people to come to grips with this go around because they did a complete about face.

The committee is going to have to justify their actions in the discovery process for the AG. Anti-trust is serious business, and this isn't going to just "go away".

That lawsuit will be very lucky to survive summary judgment. It’s nothing but political theater for a politician looking for votes

It's pretty sad that AU has been reduced to criticizing the method in which people beat them...

The committee...

I hear you, and in some ways we agree. However you cannot compare a TE to QB, regardless of talent level. The QB touches the ball every single play.

he still doesn't explain why UGA was left out then. Nobody in their right minds thinks Wash is better than UGA, but Wash got in based on "deserve" but FSU didn't. The problem is there was no consistency in the decisions. And then FSU is #5 over UGA too, lol.

It's a got damn shame some conferences voted down the CFP expansion that could've put 12 teams in this year. I'd have loved to have seen 4 or possibly 5 SEC in the CFP this year.

As hard as this is for some people to do, the committee is supposed to start with a clean slate every week. Do they? Proably not, they aren't smart enough. Do I think they put the best four in? No, but politically they did.

The best four teams right now are:

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Michigan/Washington

Texas is going to destroy Washington, and Alabama will probably win by at least 10. Its the same shite every year, and the 12 team playoff is really going to start pissing people off.

So it's more of a UGA loss than a Bama win? This says a lot about your point of view on the matter.

I remember when Oregon was going to "destroy" WA. Texas hasn't really looked impressive all year long except against an Alabama team trying to find its offensive legs in game two.

Seriously, mad props to Bama for the voodoo. Their resume isn't really all that good either.

Listen man, you have to be smarter then this. Its all about athletes and coaching 95% of the time. There is a reason that the SEC has won all but like 4 of the last 20 national championships, athletes and coaching. Those two things show up in big games that matter. Alabama beating Auburn on a last second prayer doesn't prove shite, you have to understand this. Auburn has SEC athletes all over the field who can show up and play when motivated. Anyone can lose to anyone when they don't care. We will talk after the first round and before the Texas and Alabama rematch.

You can’t compare a TE to a QB. Hey I love Bowers as a player. I love to watch him play. He affects a defense in so many ways just as a decoy. You can’t compare a player that gets the ball on every play to a TE though. A QB handles the ball on every snap. As much as I love Bowers and I think Brock Bowers is the best player in CFB but Georgia could sit Bowers and still win. If you take Beck out of that lineup I don’t know If UGA would not lose a few games.

Nah, the 12 seed will cry, because they will be excluded for the group of 5 representitive.

Oregon was infinitely more talented than WA this year, and got their arse handed to them in the PAC12 championship. Texas is talented but poorly coached, like many teams out there. You really should look at their resume more closely but you cannot look past PeeWee Herman and think he is infallible. I would say Oregon has better coaching and just as much talent.

SOS of Unbeaten Teams Left Out of Playoffs

2020 Cincinnati-50th
2017 UCF-54th
2023 FSU-55th
2018 UCF-65th
2016 WMU-75th
2023 Liberty-88th

Looks consistent to me

Remind me again how many POWER 5 teams are on that list? Mind you, this is the first time EVER, an undefeated P5 team has been left out.

Bowers was just an off the cuff example. My overall point was that I don't want a committee to be decideing that X player is deemed to have [such and such] value while Y player has [other level] of value. That's a messy situation that they shoudln't be putting themselves in. The committee's job is to take the resumes of teams 1 through whatever and stack them up against each other and see which 4 are the best. Anything beyond that is asking for shenanigans.

Although I suppose it's not really worth any mental energy at this point considering this is the last year that it matters. From now on practically any P5 team with a known emblem on their helmet that doesn't suck out loud is getting in so who cares
