Jameis 6th in voting?

Ok put it this way. If Alabama ran the same offense as oregon, with the same mentality of dropping 70 in a game that's already in hand, Sims would have better numbers than he has now
So you think Sims, with 7 picks in Alabama's offense, would only have 2 in an offense where he'd throw it even more?

But you don't so who cares.

I thought he did fine. Not easy to do.

Gordon dominated second place voting...is that the worst backhanded compliment ever given?
Posted on 12/13/14 at 8:07 pm to BluegrassBelle
I just said his stats would be better. Probably more yards and TDS with a similar Turnovers per touch ratio

No. Just trying to give some props to the other finalists. Same with giving Coop more first place votes than Gordon.

Sigh. Just give credit where it's due.

He wouldn't have same TO ratio. Mariota was not just checking down.

Is interceptions no longer a stat then? Because for most people, the 38 TDs throw with just 2 INTs is what sealed it.

Sims threw just 17 less passes than Mariota. He also didn't have as good of completion percentage.
You can't say he would have opportunity to throw longer passes because his yds per pass was only 1 yd less.
So my answer is no. Kiffin got all he could out of Sims and Oregon's offense wouldn't have improved him much if any at all.

You keep putting words in my mouth. All I said was that Oregons offense and scoring mindset typically allows the QB to put up more yards and TDs. I never said Sims was better than Mariota (he's not), I never said sims would throw less picks in oregon a system, I never said interceptions don't matter

If you would have told me back in August Blake Sims would be argued over in a Heisman thread I would have kicked you in your retarded balls.

Sims passed against SEC defenses. Mariota passed against PAC-12 defenses. Don't act like they're the same thing.

Do you realize how early & often Mariota has gotten pulled out of games throughout his time at Oregon?

I am merely saying Sims accomplished all that he was capable of accomplishing. Playing in Oregons O would not hurt nor help him.
