I don't know whether Richrod would have been a slam dunk because of Bama or Bama would have been a shitshow because of him. I hate not finding out. Oh...and Saban would be at Auburn right now.

If I have any criticism about Saban its that he hasn't completely destroyed their hopes and dreams and crushed their spirit the way Bryant did.....
Hopefully we get a streak going on em soon. Everytime we beat their arse they pull a win out of it.

All I see when I read that is the life and times of a lonely narcissist. Someone who is obsessed with himself and his impact on those around him. Someone who wants to criticize others to elevate his position. He leaves himself with only two options: my opponent sucks because they suck and if they find success it will only be because of my greatness. That is a pathetic existance.
No wonder he was an alcoholic. He drank himself to death while worrying about Auburn the whole time.

We still can't cheat or drink on the level he did. Y'all have done an outstanding job of keeping up with the cheating tradition, despite looking down the barrel of a gun.

I know this is a troll attempt.. but Auburn embraced Bear long ago (sorry Harvey Updyke Nation, we did not celebrate) BhamNews
'When word reached Auburn, the War Eagles mourned'
Not only was there no indication of any public celebration in Auburn -- let alone rolling Toomer's Corner -- most of the reports focused on the grief and respect coming from Bryant's rivals.
"When word reached Auburn, the War Eagles mourned," was the headline in the Birmingham News the next day.
The story was filled with quotes from Auburn coaches and players expressing shock.
"Like all great men, he may be gone, but the things he taught us all will last forever," said then-Auburn coach Pat Dye, who was also a former Bryant assistant at Alabama.
The Opelika-Auburn News front-page headline read: "Praise, Tears Come for Bear." A subhead read: "Auburn Players Feel the Loss of Great Coach."

I never know who to support in these Bama-Auburn threads.
I guess Bama just b/c flagships should stick together.

Ranting aside there's always been respect between the schools on the important figures
we mourned Lutz they supported us after the tornadoes
most of us in this state realize this is just a sport that we are really crazy about

You pretty much described every successful coach who has consistently won at the highest level. They are all like this....
