Super Regional sweeps by Coastal Carolina and Stony Brook in recent years and even a mediocre at best Bama team was a late game Sunday meltdown from sweeping LSU there this season.

Coastal Carolina was just better. Had nothing to do with the atmosphere.

It never had much luster. The stadium is just like every other. Old Box had fans close to the field and was way more intimidating. The fan dynamic has changed as well. Used to be a bunch of blue collar workers that enjoyed having some brews in the parking lot and knew a lot about baseball. Now its seating companies that have bought up lots of tickets. I was a season ticket holder from 86-until one year after the new stadium opened. Just my opinion.

LSU was young as shite this year. Just glad they made it as far as they did.

Yep, they capitalized on opportunities, we didn't. Pretty simple story.

It's the same place that allowed a victory lap for another team. The fans care too much about being the best fans in the country.

Home field advantage= overrated.

We all like to think that our stadiums are special and carry some "mystique" to it, but it ultimately is about the coach and players and how they perform. Yes, sometimes the players can feed off the energy of the crowd, or distract opposing players, but it still falls on the players and how they perform.

LSU replaced a shite ton from last year's team and got hot near the end of the season. Getting swept by Coastal Carolina has nothing to do with the stadium losing its luster, more so to do with good coaching by Carolina.

Some of you need to realize Coastal Carolina is a good club. LSU got hot at the end of the regular season to get hosting rights and a national seed.

As of now, Coastal has won 49 games, has an RPI of 5, has a SOS of 25, has a winning record over top 50 teams in the 20 games they've played top 50 teams. They also went 21-3 in their league play.

They went further than the Hogs. Here's to a promising future for both schools

It's as simple as they got hits when they needed them. I was at all the games, we must have stranded 20 base runners both games combined.

Get your facts straight. Didn't get swept by Stony Brook.

Some sports fan you must be.

I am guess all the SEC teams that have lost their Regionals and Supers have lost their luster as well

Anyone who follows college baseball...

They were a Regions #1 seed in 2005, 06, 08, and 10.
They have hosted Regionals in 2006, 08, and 10
They have been to a Super Regional 3 times since 2007
They have hosted a Super Regional once, in 2010
They have been in an NCAA Regional 13 times since 2000
