No one is saying LSU didn't earn the win.

You guys are fricking insufferable. Saying Gus dropped the ball doesn't somehow take away from LSU- it's the opposite. It's saying your coaching staff is better.

LSU adjusted. LSU did what almost every team since UGA in 2013 did. Gus did not adjust. Gus responded to an adjustment meant to stop the run by passing six times in the second half.

That is a abject coaching failure and only LSU fans with a huge victim complex trying to make everything about them deny that.

Maybe the barn should offer him. I hear y'all will be looking soon...

Not mocking. That's a legit question based on the confidence of his post. Words like shutdown, adjustments, game plans...

Yall ran the exact same offense in qtrs 2-4 as qtr 1. We simply adjusted.

Yall can be angry that Gus didnt adjust, but yall saying he changed his offense and went conservative is just flat out wrong

but LSU certainly didn't somehow impose their will on Auburn either.
Actually that is exactly what did happen

Once LSU adjusted, we dominated their offense. Dominated them. And Auburn did zero to try and adjust to that.

Considering the crazy fricking ways auburn has won some games the last few years, they have zero room to talk about that.

What it boils down to is Auburn basically beat themselves and LSU was the beneficiary in the end.

That is three posts above yours. So, obviously, someone is saying it.

we run the same offense every game

there was a noticeable difference in our play calling in the 1st quarter compared to the rest of the game

if you can't see that, then you are lying to yourself

Run the ball and try to beat the defense over the top. That's the offense Auburn ran for the first 21 quarters of the season. It's also the same offense they ran for the last 3.

Stidham attempted several deep balls throughout the game. They just didn't convert.

Perhaps you should read the thread.

It's a dumb thread, but how are LSU posters insufferable for pointing out things LSU did to win?

huge victim complex

I find the Tiguar complex much more interesting. It takes a certain kind of person to completely ignore the multiple posts saying that Auburn handed LSU the game, then call a fan base insufferable for arguing that the opposing team's coach just let their team win.

Yeah, you pulled out a narrow victory over a team that wouldn't stop trying to run the damned ball until there were blind Micronesians adrift in the great Pacific on a log that could see what was coming next. That's playing smart, not imposing your will. You won the game. Stop trying to add fake moral victories as well.

Yall tried to run the ball with tempo, and hit on some big plays over the top.

It was the exact same play calling

We held a team to 66 yards in the second half.

If that isnt imposing your will I dont know what meets that definition

Auburn threw the ball on first down 3 times in the first half (2 in the first series). They were unsuccessful 2 of the 3 times setting themselves up in 2nd and long. In the second half they threw on first down 2 times (the last 2 series).

We threw on first down 3 times in the first quarter, were very successful due to our balanced offense, and then didn't throw on first down the next three quarters until the very end. It was an obvious playcalling change and it made all Auburn fans furious because we've seen Gus do it multiple times (and lost in every big game it happened in).

Now saying it was all us giving the game away is silly of course. LSU made adjustments and your players busted their butts and made a nice comeback. But that was only half the story, the other half was Gus being an idiot. Both parts led to us losing.

Congrats on the win.

You know, it's really a shame when a Vandy fan actually watched the game and an LSU fan is just going by the box score.

Yes, I imagine you thought that was a devastating jab. You measure intelligence (and matriculation) because someone pointed out the inescapable truth that both sides had a part in this game, and that hurt your feelings.

Just a correction/adjustment in the LSU defensive game plan.

There really wan't even that much of that as much as LSU executed at a much better level and the emotion of the crowd fed them on.
