Oh yes, I've got a secret... Shhhh... The REC sends out a Bham refs bonus check every November that gets cashed and is earned during the game. Ritter is the lead man in distribution of said checks to the other refs. Now this is top secret, fall up some stairs if you tell anyone else type stuff. So if you value your trees and forehead you will not report this to the fbi, cia or homeland security, doj or the state banking department. Say 10 roll tides, Bear Bryant is your hero and Saban is your god to worship in Saturdays. RTR
El oh el and according to tRant Bama is getting away with it. #bravo

Yeah, his screwups are really bad.

He was actually the head referee of the 9-6 game that Bama gave away and got a mulligan because of whining HC on ESPN.

He's a Bama Alumni. No one should ref any of the games of the school they attended...doesn't seem that hard to comprehend.

I'm glad you can finally see how we gave that 9-6 game Away. Always beating ourselves

People can say what they want but there is a statistical enomamly of disproportionate fouls against LSU when Ritter refs.
Not to mention some famously bad calls (PP7 pick that never was, the Cadal Alexander personal foul for pushing a dude off his leg) he may just be the shittiest ref in the conference but Bama seems to come out clean.

Ritter is a great guy, and a guy has got to eat, right?
Yes Ritter is an alum, and so his daughter may go to Bama, and he makes a little money from his business that sells Bama merchandise, and him and Bill Battle were both Sigma Nu's at Bama, but absolutely none of that means he is not the best Ref in the SEC.

I agree with this. Even if a referee is not engaging in any impropriety, why not preclude any appearance of impropriety?

He's either the SEC's greatest screwww up or the SEC's greatest villain. Depending on your perspective.

REFEREE: What would you say as a referee is your toughest call?
RITTER: You know it’s managing the holding that we see play in play out, and trying to gauge the impact that that hold has on a play and whether or not it’s worthy of a foul.
