Agreed. Heavy lean Aggie though.

I see another thing in this.

With Texas and other Big 12 schools constant whining and sniping at SEC schools, especially A&M, Alabama, and LSU, and their hiding behind the Big 12 "bylaw" forbidding badmouthing another conference school, Miles is simply paying it back in kind.

This reminds of the old saying that there cant be a true rivalry between a hammer and a nail even though they meet often. Of course Texas was always the hammer and Aggie was always the nail

when there were no limits on scholarships offered or limits to how many people you could have on a team. back when Darryl royal was coaching, texas would have over 100 people on their team and we would have like 50

Lulz. Another 20-something aggie who believes everything his aggie grandpappy tells him.

The group-think in College Station is laughable.

the myth back then was that Darrell Royal recruited who he wanted and then added more just so they couldn't play for somebody else. And it was a myth. The SWC had a limit of 115 football players on scholarship at any time. Texas wasn't loading up on monster numbers compared to everybody else.

After the 1967 season, Texas signed 40 recruits. A&M had 49, SMU 47, Texas Tech 44, TCU 43, Rice 38 and Baylor 37.

Texas' advantage wasn't in the number of signees. It was in having an unlimited budget for player evaluation and recognition.

So you admit your assertion that Texas was the only school that stocked up on players in sheer numbers, while poor little A&M could barely sign enough to field a team, is utter, total bullshite?

I don't care. I'm sure some Aggie here could pull up an article that can prove what i said. My point was that you guys had such an advantage over us just because of how small our school was then. And that next line, that you decided to not quote, proved that. No run along sip. You are not our rival. You don't belong here on the SECrant

By all means, do so. Prove that A&M only had 50 players and signed smaller recruiting classes than other Southwest Conference teams.

I'm not talking about the quality of the recruit, I'm talking about the number. "That next line" had nothing to do with that, aggie.

This debate is so tired now. Yes, Texas dominated the series. No matter the spin that is put on it, that won't change. Yes, in the modern era of college football the record was much closer. Depending on where you want to make the dividing line you can have A&M ahead or Texas. Where you draw that line is self-serving, usually. It's fair to say that the series has been pretty even, recently. Still, in the overall picture your university won.

Now it's over and probably will be for some time.

In the meantime, enjoy your trips to Ames, Lubbock, Waco, and little Manhattan until you blow up that conference too.

And once again you fricking retarded sip, I don't care about if we only had 50, or 75, or whatever when you guys had more than that. My point was, I hope you can follow me here, that there were inherited differences between our schools that gave your program a distinct advantage over ours for years. I don't care if the total number of players were somewhat equal, that line I quoted proved the point i was trying to make. Now run along.

They didn't have a single player declare early (2011 class), so just using the 2009 and 2010 classes (247sports rankings):

2009 Class - #6 class (only player drafted in 2014 was Garrett Gilbert after he left for SMU)

2010 Class - #2 class (NOT ONE PLAYER DRAFTED...NOT...ONE)

To put it into perspective:

A&M's 2009 class was ranked 24th. Christine Michael, Sean Porter, and Ryan Swope were drafted in 2013.

A&M's 2010 class was ranked 19th. Luke Joeckel was drafted #2 overall in 2013, Jake Matthews was drafted #6 overall in 2014. Damontre Moore went in the 3rd round in 2013..

A&M's 2011 class was ranked 35th. Mike Evans was drafted #7 overall in 2014 and Johnny Manziel was drafted #22 overall in 2014.

Now that is some excellent talent evaluation.
