Wrong. This is why I can't take you seriously. Everything you post on this subject can only be considered nonsense now.

and you are calling me retarded.

Based on your previous statement, yes.

I like how you glossed over it even being the word used in the op.

But since you are that dimwitted here is a little help. I will work with you through your troubles.

What is the definition of an "expectation" in this context? I would really like to see this from you, I think this may be your trouble.

I'm going to explain it to you an simply as I can:

Auburn is expected to win 8 games. Is that now their goal? Expectation =/= Goal.

Like I said, after that idiotic statement, you can't be taken seriously.

so you cant even do what is asked of you.

every additional post of yours is like hypocrisy personified .

But here I will lay out your failure in this thread

Lets start here.

quote:

I'm discussing the expectations that Gus is setting for his team, with the boosters,

Okay great...clearly you are referring back to the OP here, so let's take a further look at that. What did Gus and the OP state to the boosters?

quote:

Gus Malzahn’s No. 1 goal this upcoming season is to field a top-10 defense

His "goal" (That word we are supposedly not discussing)

Here is a little further into the op. The actual quote

quote:

My No. 1 goal, is to get our defense to play Top 10 defense. It's not offense. It's not 'this or that.' It's for us to play Top 10 defense," Malzahn said

Again that pesky "goal" word we havent mentioned or discussed. As you can see he is discussing his "goals" or as you have changed the word, his "expectations" for his team to his boosters

So I see you are having a hard time with your own words and the topic de jour and you only strive to get by in life.

Raise the bar little fella, if you dont set goals for yourself, you will never achieve anything.

Yes, his goal is a top 10 defense. I get that.

Guess what though, by saying it's their main priority, it can now become the EXPECTATION. Your goal should never be to simply meet expectations, it should be to exceed them. Therein lies his problem.

Are you catching on yet?

ETA: There's a reason "Exceeds Expectations" is an endearing term in the business world and "Met Expectations" generally is not.

Good, now you are getting there little guy. So you now have equated "goal" with "expectation"

So we can check this off to your other comments as being just typed up in error.

quote:

Your goal should never be to simply meet expectations, it should be to exceed them

Ah, bravo. again, now you are getting it. So you set the bar high and dont aim low(again remember the previous comments?)

quote:

it seems you finally are, thankfully you have admitted to these fallacies. That is unless you are going to later state that you have changed your mind once again...

No, you don't. Jesus you're stupid.

You should want to set your "bar" at what would be considered average, or very slightly above average. You set your goals above said bar. The amount of trouble you have with this simple concept is astounding.

again, what you previously stated

quote:

Your goal should never be to simply meet expectations, it should be to exceed them

Lets look at this in terms of darts, since you are having an incredibly hard time and "stupid"

If you aim at the bulls-eye and get it, you have accomplished the ultimate goal, you dont aim at 20 because its easier and think maybe I'll get lucky and hit the bullseye.

Wow, bravo.

Just so we can further clarify, Gus's "goals"(there is that word we weren't discussing again) are set above the bar, right?

Again your comments on the matter only further the hypocrisy of your post

I can see why simple is an easy word for you

Sure, the question now is do you expect to hit the bullseye every single time or is that just your goal?

If you expect all 3, you're going to fail 9 out of 10 times. If you expect 1 out of 3, you will succeed more often than not, and occasionally exceed your expectations.

Get it?

He has potentially set the expectations at top 10, so no.

Do you still not get that part?

I'm discussing the expectations Gus is setting for his defense. I'm still not sure what you're discussing.
