Again, I know this is tough for you guys to understand but this UGA fan dragged this article out from Auburn's media guy covering Gus speaking to the WEST GEORGIA AUBURN CLUB in fricking May

I'm surprised he didn't say he expects to have the #1 defense and then channel his inner Lebron James and roll out 7 straight championships we're about to win

And again, I ask why do that? You can talk all day long about improving. But you've backed yourself into a corner when you've placed specific expectations on a season.

W/ Steele I believe this to be nearly statistically impossible.

Because it's a booster/fan club

I know you've never been to one but try to imagine it

So placing goals for your team/season is a bad thing?

So goals like "we want to win a NC", that's different right??

I don't think it's sunk in yet how terrible Auburn is going to be this year

As bad as Auburn's defense was last year, it still turned out better than Arkansas'. Not sure I'd be pointing fingers if I were a Hog fan.

TOTAL DEFENSE PER PLAY:
1. Alabama- 4.3 yards/play
2. Missouri- 4.32
3. Florida- 4.65
4. Georgia- 4.76
5. Ole Miss- 4.87
6. LSU- 5.17
7. Vanderbilt- 5.17
8. Tennessee- 5.21
9. Miss. St.- 5.32
10. Auburn- 5.37
11. Texas A&M- 5.42
12. Kentucky- 5.55
13. S. Carolina- 6.03
14. Arkansas- 6.07

TOTAL SCORING DEFENSE
1. Alabama- 15.1 pts/game
2. Missouri- 16.2
3. Georgia- 16.9
4. Florida- 18.3
5. Tennessee- 20.0
6. Vanderbilt- 21.0
7. Texas A&M- 22.0
8. Ole Miss- 22.6
9. Miss. St.- 23.2
10. LSU- 24.3
11. Auburn- 26.0
12. Kentucky- 27.4
13. Arkansas- 27.4
14. S. Carolina- 27.5

I do think Auburn's defense will be much improved

You lost over half of your starters. 106th in the country in "tackles returning" and you just hired a JOKE of a defensive coordinator.

Good luck.

I'm starting to think Steele actually just advertises himself to HCs as the guy you call when you need a decently plausible scapegoat for a year.

Solid recruiter...even though he never really had a chance to do anything special at LSU in that regard either.

He is an absolutely ATROCIOUS defensive coordinator. So, so, so bad. And 90% of us knew that when he was hired and melted like a motherfricker.

Can't help yourself can you. It's kind of sad by this point. Did an Arkansas fan screw your wife or something?

Arkansas is also #1 nationally in % of tackles returning, but you probably wouldn't post that.

I was also talking about how their offense will most likely be pretty bad. Do you want to post offensive stats? You can compare Arkansas and Georgia if you want.

Never said goals where a bad thing.

I've been to booster and fan functions where Saban talked and you would think he's just taken over a program that hasn't won in decades.

You guys aren't shedding any light by calling him terrible/horrible/etc.

If you'd provide some stats to back up your observations then that would be helpful

Just curious, but where did Malzahn promise anything?
